Fans have missed seeing Eli around; however, unfortunately, his wife Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) is serving a prison sentence for killing her bio dad TR Coates (William Christian). They say jail can change a person, so is this super couple getting by, or is Lani’s time away (locked up) taking a toll on their marriage?

Lani might be very worried that her dad has gone missing and being in prison, there’s nothing she can do to help. Eli may have promised his wife that he’d do all he could to find Carver, which is the real reason for his extended stay.

While the couple may be “managing” right now, the truth is that they are likely not “okay”. Eli is playing single father to young twins, and with zero family support, he has got to be struggling. He may also have a little animosity towards his wife, as she’s in prison, and he’s pulling double duty. Twins are easy, and being a single parent raising two young kids must be challenging and frustrating.

It’s undeniable that prison can change a person, and it really depends on the situation. Some can be rehabilitated, and other people can suffer from traumatic experiences that change them for the worse. With Lani being a police officer when she entered her sentence, there’s a good chance that she could be bullied while in prison or become a target for some inmates. As much as DOOL tries to paint a picture that the couple is getting by, they might be at their breaking point. This is obviously a hard time in their relationship, but the real question is, will their marriage survive Lani’s jail term?
