General Hospital (GH) Spoilers: Jordan Supports A Friend In Need – Steps Into The Deputy Mayor’s Position

General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates tease Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) will support a friend in need when she steps into the Deputy Mayor’s position. As a matter of fact, she might be able to support two friends in need since Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) was her predecessor as the Port Charles Police Commissioner.

General Hospital Spoilers – Laura Collins Going To Chechnya

Mayor Laura Collins, (Genie Francis) Kevin Collins, (Jon Lindstrom), and Yuri (Cyrus Hobbi) will soon be leaving for Chechnya, Russia to search for Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss). Since Laura no longer has a Deputy Mayor to carry out her duties in her absence, she called Jordan and asked if she’d fill in while she’s in Russia. Jordan was glad to oblige, even though she’d be pulling double duty since she’s also the Port Charles Police Commissioner; but there’s no doubt she’d be able to handle both jobs.

However, Jordan may get to thinking – her predecessor as Port Charles Police Commissioner, Anna Devane was just forced out of the WSB. Jordan could help two of her oldest friends if she asked Anna to step in for her as Police Commissioner, and as Deputy Mayor, she could appoint her.

General Hospital Updates – Walking Away From Open Cases-Not Entirely

If she offers Anna the position while Laura’s away it doesn’t mean she’ll be walking away from open cases entirely. One of those open cases happens to be Nikolas’ disappearance because she and others who care for Laura decided to keep her out of the loop. Jordan, Mac Scorpio (John J. York), and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) all agreed no news was good news, concerning the broken watch in the tack closet on Spoon Island. There was no use worrying Laura that Nikolas could have met with foul play until they knew something for sure, and it’s become a lukewarm case if not a cold one. No blood was found, only the broken watch, but it appeared he’d been locked in the closet unless Nikolas himself broke his watch and locked it in there.

The Deputy Mayor And Police Commissioner Work Together Closely

Generally, the Deputy Mayor and the Police Commissioner work together closely and that’s why Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) recruited the late Eileen Ashby (Heather Mazur). That way he had a hotline for everything that was going on with every case and especially the ones where he or his family members were suspects. What Jordan’s role will be will be Laura’s contact as to everything going on in Port Charles, criminal activity and all, so she and Anna would still be working closely together.

Appointing Anna as Police Commissioner while Jordan acts as Deputy Mayor will be good for both Jordan and Anna should Anna accept it. And Laura certainly won’t have any issues with Anna’s acting as Police Commissioner until she returns-it will make Anna feel useful and supported.
