Disney Magic Announces All New Departure Program

Disney Magic fans know that that the cruise line is owned and operated exclusive by Disney Cruise Line of The Walt Disney Company. Other Disney ships are the Disney Wonder, Disney Dream Disney Fantasy and Disney Wish. Unlike the other ships, Disney Magic is decorated Art Deco. And if you’ve been on a Disney cruise ship, you have heard the horn blast, “When You Wish Upon A Star,” and it’s no different with Disney Magic.

In 2013 Disney Magic went through some big renovations with updated cabins, lounges, restaurants and a spa. And, they also introduced “Marvel Avengers Academy,” with a play area with Marvel’s Avengers charactesr, the Aqua Dunk and AquaLab which showcased a pool and waterslide.

Then in 2018 the 1,750-guest cruise ship went through a major refurbish with a transformed teen club, an adult only Cove Cafe, Club Disney Junior, Rapunzel’s Royal Table, and a “Tangled” restaurant.

Disney Magic Spoilers – Upgrades

Back in 1998 Disney Magic’s home was port was Port Canaveral and she set sail to Nassau, Bahamas. Since then, Disney Magic has departed from many ports and sailed off to just as many destinations. Now, Disney Magic is kicking off an all new program from New Orleans, in its Louisiana port. Disney Magic cruisers will be able to choose from a series of four to six-night intineraries.

The five-night cruise will sail to the Western Caribbean which will include two stops in Mexico, one to Puerto Progresso, which is a new port for large cruise ships and resort destination, and Cozumel, a popular destination that is known for its amazing snorkeling and scuba diving.

Disney Magic Updates – Programs Then and Now

The program will be extended through mid-April and will also feature some short Mexico cruises and a six-night program to the Western Caribbean in March. The week only cruise will sail to Mexico and Cayman Islands with stops at Cozumel and George Town.

Once Disney Magic has finished its New Orleans program, it will reposition to San Juan in May. If New Orleanians miss their chance to take advantage of this program, it will be back in 2024 with seven more cruises from January through March.
