General Hospital Spoilers tease Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) isn’t feeling so keen on seeking revenge on his father as of late. His motives have changed, and he’s not as focused on revenge as he once was. Nothing matters more to Michael right now than seeing to it that Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) beats cancer and lives to share the life with him that they had planned on.
It seems foolish and petty now to pursue a takedown against his dad, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), and Michael can see the time it has cost him with his family while being so focused on the wrong thing. Willow tried several times to get Michael to set his feelings aside and make amends with his father, but he’s only now seeing how important it is to hold his family close, because he never knows how long he’ll have with them. Is it too late to call it all off though?
Willow has spent months trying to get Michael to come down off of his high horse. Sure, he’s entitled to feel angry after all his father did and how he treated his mom, but Willow has been seeing things through her own lens — of a potentially terminally ill woman.
She doesn’t see the point in harboring grudges or wasting time on seeking payback when one could be spending their time with the people they love. Even if Michael doesn’t want to embrace his father, he doesn’t have to expend his energy on hating him so much and trying to find ways to hurt him. Finally, as Michael watches Willow nearly waste away in the hospital, he’s going to see her point of view and decide not to retaliate against his father anymore.
When Michael tells Dex to meet him as soon as possible, it’s merely because he wants to put this to rest, once and for all. Michael doesn’t want negative feelings about his father on his mind anymore. He’s ready to walk away from the revenge game and never look back, but Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) isn’t.
In the time that Michael has had Dex in his employ, it appears Dex has developed his own interest in ridding Port Charles of Sonny’s criminal enterprise. Michael won’t understand it, and he’s not going to be happy when Dex says Michael can quit but he’s not going anywhere. That is not the deal they had.
Sure, Dex was supposed to leave town when Michael was done with him, but Michael wasn’t supposed to be done with him until he saw this plan through. Now, Dex is involved with Josslyn ‘Joss’ Jacks (Eden McCoy, so he’s definitely not skipping town. However, Sonny isn’t yet in jail where he can’t retaliate against Dex for taking him down. What a mess! As Michael comes to realize Dex is still committed to taking Sonny down, will he try to warn his father about the disaster he put into motion?
