General Hospital (GH) Spoilers: Trina Questions Spencer’s Motivations, Is He Really Ready To Be A Father?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates tease that Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) will question Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) motivations soon. When she finds out he’s going to fight for custody of his soon-to-be sibling, she’ll ask him if he’s really ready to be a father.

General Hospital Spoilers – He Hasn’t Even Babysat

Trina is flabbergasted when Spencer tells her his plans to fight Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) and Esmé Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) for custody of Esmé’s baby. She agrees that it won’t be much problem having Esmé proven an unfit mother, and Nikolas as a father, but is Spencer ready to be a father-he hasn’t even babysat! Spencer knows next to nothing about babies, small children, or parenting skills other than knowing what terrible examples are.

Spencer maintains he can handle it – he’ll take parenting classes ahead of the family court to show good intent, and Ava Cassadine (Maura West) is even on board. She’s given him access to his trust fund and they’ve made amends, and will give advice on child-rearing; even if giving him the benefit of her past mistakes.

General Hospital Updates – Spencer Cassadine And A Baby Doll?

Spencer is anxious, he doesn’t know if the baby will be a boy or a girl but he has a baby doll complete with diapers, bottles, and everything for a real baby. He’ll practice taking care of the doll until the real baby is born, and if he has a little sister, the doll will be her first when she’s old enough. Trina is bemused but impressed – he’s really taking the potential responsibilities of parenthood seriously, and he already knows how to cradle the doll in his arms correctly. He doesn’t know what he will name the baby if it’s a boy but if it’s a girl he plans to name her “Courtney Britta”. Of course, that’s after his mother and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and Trina is touched by his obvious tenderness in talking about the baby.

A Side Of Spencer Cassadine No One’s Seen

Trina is treated to a side of Spencer that no one’s ever seen, and that includes Spencer himself; he remembers very well when his father and Britt were engaged. She was pregnant and carrying “Baby Ben” who turned out to actually be Rocco Falconeri (Finn Francis Carr) and when he was born, before the truth came out he held him. Unfortunately, when Nikolas found out baby Ben was really his nephew he broke up with Britt and baby Ben went to his parents, Dante and Lulu Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna, Emme Rylan).

Spencer was only around eight years old, but he never did hold what Britt did against her – she wanted a baby and couldn’t get one any other way. What she did was nothing compared to Nikolas’ actions in abandoning Spencer and faking his death, and locking Esmé in a tower, as far as Spencer’s concerned.
