General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) didn’t mean to stumble upon the secret Josslyn ‘Joss’ Jacks (Eden McCoy) was keeping. Having a guy holed up in her dorm room at PCU and recovering from a gunshot wound is a pretty dramatic way to prepare for finals. Carly might not know the full extent of the details surrounding how Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) ended up in Joss’ bed, but she knows enough to glean that her daughter’s response tells all. Joss has feelings for Dex, and she’s having a hard time keeping it under wraps.

Now that Carly has been clued into the truth, Joss can speak more freely about the struggle she’s having with deciding which guy really has her heart. Carly can relate. She’s been in more than a few love triangles over the years. While she may not have learned her lesson the first — or second — time around, she’s going to be hopeful that Joss might learn from her mom’s mistakes.

Carly wants to impart some wisdom when she sees how desperately her daughter is in need of guidance. Without letting her personal opinions about Cameron ‘Cam’ Webber (William Lipton) and Dex get in the way, she might try to teach Joss the importance of finishing what she started with Cam before she gets any deeper into things with Dex.

After all, nothing has really happened with Dex yet, but the longing is there. Joss can feel herself falling for him and he’s the guy who is occupying her thoughts now, not Cam. It’s only fair that she set Cam free. When Carly offers advice, Joss will accept it and probably tear up as she explains how hard it is to picture herself with someone else, but also how difficult it’s become to picture herself as Cam’s girlfriend anymore. The feelings just aren’t there, and she can’t force them.

Will Joss Heed Her Words?

Joss and Carly have a special mother-daughter relationship. Joss really respects her mom’s opinion, and she’s going to know her advice is coming from a place of love. Still, it won’t make it any easier to let go of Cam — her best friend for as long as she can remember. Many of the most solid memories Joss has of her childhood and adolescence include Cam, and she doesn’t want to lose their friendship just because her heart has outgrown their romance.
