Deacon cited Hope’s letters as the inspiration to reclaim his life and be a better father. Sheila’s incredible comeback from the dead quickly led to her encounter with Hope at Deacon’s apartment.

To think that Hope walked into Deacon’s apartment meant various factors were in play. Deacon left the door unlocked, and Sheila was disguised.

If Sheila was not prepared to leave the apartment in her soapy disguise, she may likely have attacked Hope, who would have instantly recognized her.

Classic Film Noir At Il Giardino

Deacon feels as though he is trapped in what feels like a classic film noir. Kudos to the writing staff for creating a scenario that is far deeper and darker than when Deacon used to come by Sheila’s hotel suite.

The dimness of the apartment in the Il Giardino setting. Sheila playing the femme fatale. Deacon starring as the doomed man. Yes, it all fits so well.

Will this building conflict play out with Sheila succeeding in killing, following her two fails in the alley? Might Deacon be the natural victim?
