The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for the week of May 9, 2022, reveal that the activity centers on the wedding of Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes). The Teriah wedding is a go despite Rey Rosales’ (Jordi Vilasuso) death. Everyone has assured Teriah that Rey would want them to continue with the nuptials, that’s the kind of guy he was. They wanted to cancel the whole shebang after the death of Mariah’s stepdad, but her mom Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) wouldn’t hear of it. So the wedding will take place on Friday the 13th and in soapland, this is not a good omen.
As we said, wedding planning and big event dominate the action in Genoa City, Wisconsin. There will be a familiar face at the wedding when Morgan Obenreder comes back to town as Crystal Porter, Tessa’s little sister.
She’s in town for Tessa and Mariah’s (Camryn Grimes) wedding which is centered around a 70’ glam rock theme and did we mention it takes place on Friday, the 13th? Sure we did, but it bears mentioning again. What are these two wild and crazy gals thinking?
Obenreder was seen on Y&R in 2017 but the character has not been on or talked about much since.
Today Tessa has her act together but it wasn’t always that way. The same can be said for Mariah as well. Tessa was a homeless grifter when she came to town and was initially helped out by Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). Before she was with Mariah she dated Mariah’s brother Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) who may or may not be over her which is one potential complication of the upcoming nuptials.
Will Rey’s death weigh heavily on the wedding mood? It has been just a few days since Rey was killed in a car accident and he would have played a big part in the wedding. Maybe the wedding will serve as a reminder of the celebration of life and at the same time a celebration of the time that Rey had with Sharon and Mariah?
