The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers and updates tease that Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) never intended to shoot John Finn Finnegan (Tanner Novlan). However, she did aim her gun, with an attached silencer, at his wife’s head.
Since Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) knows that Sheila was attempting to murder her, she will report her mother-in-law to the authorities. That means Sheila will need to go into hiding while he fights for his life that hopefully is not lost.
Extended drama can not play out on screen if Sheila is quickly arrested or turns herself in. So, viewers are anticipating seeing Sheila at a clandestine location or a villain hunt proceeding.
Yes, the fans could see this one coming. They did not know exactly what Sheila would do or who would get hurt. But the telegraph was coming as soon as the retrospective of Steffy and Finn’s love story was shown.
Kudos to the writing staff for lengthening Sheila’s arc. Various laments about her having shot certain characters in daytime days gone by implied that another bullet was coming.
To have Sheila shoot and possibly kill her believed to be a first-born child was a challenge. But B&B’s excellent writing staff pulled it off. Brown, Wood, and Novlan collaborated beautifully in the memorable sequence.
What more could Steffy do?
She repeatedly warned Finn to cut Sheila out of his life, and he did not. Finn can not be blamed for being born or feeling a connection to his birth mother.
Steffy also implored her mother not to allow Sheila to gain an inch. Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen), in wanting to believe in redemption, relied too much on academic theory rather than the realism Steffy called for.
The Forrester, Logan, and Finnegan families, including Finn’s father, Jack Finnegan (Ted King), also share blame for not protecting their own from this soapy monster.
No. Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) can not be held reasonably responsible for Sheila’s actions. Beyond her violent backstory, Sheila served time in jail for her crimes. As Steffy exclaimed, she learned nothing from that experience.
Brooke spoke impulsively at Il Giordino days before Sheila exacted her champagne label switch plan. But Lang’s character is not responsible for Sheila shooting Finn. Now, Sheila must be punished.
