Bridgerton Spoilers – Why Did Regé-Jean Page Turn Down An Offer To Return?

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the British actor signed a one-year deal with the Netflix series, which focuses on one of the Bridgerton siblings and their love life each season.

The first season, of course, was all about Simon Basset’s romance and marriage to Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor). And while the handsome actor was asked to return for three to five episodes for an estimated $50,000 each, he turned down the offer for a number of reasons.

By now everyone knows that Regé-Jean Page has become a huge household name because of Bridgerton, and has even been tipped to become the next James Bond and the first actor of color in the role. What’s more, he also made a splashy debut in Saturday Night Live and has several projects in the pipeline, including The Gray Man and the film adaptation of Dungeons and Dragons. If that weren’t enough, he also won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series.

Bridgerton Updates – What’s Next For Regé-Jean Page?

Of course, this has prompted a lot of people to wonder if Regé-Jean Page decided to leave Bridgerton behind – and rather quickly too – so he can focus on bigger and better projects in the film and television industry. And if this were to be the case, that would be great, but at the same time, fans would love to see the Duke of Hastings continue his on-screen marriage to the Duchess of Hastings, too.
