Royal Family News: Prince Harry Says ‘The Crown’ More Truthful Than UK Press
British royal family news reveals that Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex popped up on The Late Late Show, hosted by his bestie James Corden, and royally goofed off in between complaining about his family, the media, and his need for privacy. He did all of this while parading around LA on the top of a bus, and knocking on stranger’s doors. Really, Harry, you say you want privacy?
Royal Family News: Prince Harry Endorses The Crown
Among the more outrageous things he did was defend the Netflix series The Crown. Oh, right he works for them now. So that’s why all of a sudden he has no problem with the show demoralizing his family by sensationalizing the most painful moments of their lives?
He had the gumption to say, “I’m way more comfortable with ‘The Crown’ than I am seeing the stories written about my family or my wife or myself.”
“Because … ‘The Crown’ is obviously fiction, take it how you will. But this is being reported on as fact because you’re supposedly news. I have a real issue with that.”
He went on to say The Crown is “fiction,” but it at least gives audiences a “rough idea” about the pressures of royal life.
Royal Family News: Prince Harry Endorses The Show That Mocked His Mother
Even though “The Crown” has presented unflattering portraits of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles, and especially his mother Princess Diana, Prince Harry seems to be fine with it all—after all the streamer that owns the show now owns him, too.
On The Late Late Show on Thursday, Harry told host and best friend James Corden that he prefers The Crown to stories he has seen written about himself and his wife, Meghan Markle, in the U.K. press.
“They don’t pretend to be news. It’s fictional,” Harry said.
“But (‘The Crown’) is loosely based on the truth. Of course, it’s not strictly accurate, of course not, but loosely it gives you a rough idea about what that lifestyle, the pressures of putting duty and service above family and everything else, what can come from that.”
Royal Family News: Prince Harry Prefers Fiction To Fact
Royal experts will have to marvel about his endorsement of The Crown since a friend of Prince Charles told the Daily Mail that he feared the fabricated scenes could do lasting damage to the monarchy and to future-King Charles in particular.
