Royal Family News: Kate Middleton, Not Meghan Markle, Gets Magazine Cover Amid Spotlight Feud
British Royal family news reveals that when Meghan Markle and Prince Harry first made their romance known, magazines around the world featured the gorgeous actress as their cover stories. Kate Middleton lost the spotlight that once shone on her.
Kate worked hard for center stage, going from the somewhat shy new wife of Prince William to outgoing mom of three, a participant in royal family duties, and support to her busy husband. So it’s not surprising that when Meghan stepped forward, Kate reportedly viewed Markle as stealing her spotlight.
In the weeks leading up to Prince Harry’s once-upon-a-fairy-tale romantic wedding to Meghan and after, rumors swirled that Middleton felt upset by Markle. Meghan was getting all the media attention, while Kate played lady-in-waiting in the shadows.
As one royal expert stated, “I think that Kate would very definitely be threatened by Meghan’s presence on the royal scene.”
Royal Family News – Princesses At War
TLC even made a documentary about the rumors, “Kate v. Meghan: Princesses at War?” which covered all the supposed reasons that Middleton and Markle were in a royal feud.
And then came Megxit. The term quickly went viral to describe Prince Harry’s and Meghan’s Instagram announcement that they were stepping back as senior members of the royal family. Their goal: Become financially independent.
Since then, Harry and Meghan have settled into the ultra-exclusive community of Montecito, California. Their neighbors include Oprah Winfrey, who will be doing a televised interview with the couple that reportedly is already sending shock waves of disapproval throughout the royal family.
But now Kate may have regained the spotlight despite that interview. Proof: A picture’s worth a thousand words, and it’s Middleton, not Markle, who just got announced as the cover story for People magazine’s new royal edition.
Royal Family News – Kate Middleton, People Magazine Cover Model
One of the most popular publishing companies, People, just announced their new Royals spin-off. The company chose Kate Middleton as its cover story.
Beginning with the issue featuring Kate, People Royals will become a quarterly publication that looks at the royal family from all angles. The first issue hits newsstands on March 5.
Here’s what to expect in the inaugural issue: It’s all about Kate! Middleton glows on the cover, wearing a traditionally oversized British hat. Her cover headline? “Kate the Great!”
As for Meghan? Markle earns just a mention on the same cover in much smaller letters, and Harry gets priority billing in the headline: “Harry & Meghan: What Their New Life Is Really Like.”
The article about Kate describes her as a “millennial Queen-in-the-making.” We learn how Middleton achieved 10 years as a member of the royal family, climbing the Palace ladder to become a 39-year-old symbol of the royal family’s future.
Kate defines herself as a believer in expressing her feelings, making mental health a priority while cherishing the joys of laughter and parenthood.
Middleton has chosen to homeschool her children: George, 7; Charlotte, 5, and Louis, 2. And Kate does all this while taking on two royal roles: Supporting Prince William as the future King and raising George as yet another future King.
With Meghan’s exit, Middleton is now the sole senior royal member in her generation. Or as a royal historian expressed it: “Kate is now the only real possible provider of the glamour factor.”
Middleton is under constant inspection, always having to be camera-ready and aware that what she says and does will be recorded by the media and other royal observers. While Kate is cautious about topics like politics and behind-the-scenes life with William, she has scored points for her consistency and ability to bring happiness into others’ lives.
In the unofficial Kate Middleton versus Meghan Markle Spotlight Scoreboard, we’re giving Kate 20 points for this prestigious honor! (Sorry, Meghan).
