Princess Eugenie’s Baby Won’t Have A Title
Princess Eugenie still has a long way to go in her pregnancy, but it looks like there are some royal watchers out there wondering whether or not her future bundle of joy will have a royal title. Here’s what you need to know.
Just last week Princess Eugenie, along with her husband Jack Brooksbank, announced that they are expecting their first child together. Even though they tied the knot back in October of 2018, the royal couple wanted to wait until it was the right time for them to start their family.
According to the Daily Mail, sources say that Princess Eugenie might be taking a page out of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s book by not giving her future baby a title. As many fans know, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have opted not to give their son Archie Harrison a title, as they want him to grow up living a life that is as private as possible. Once Archie becomes an adult, that’s when he will be able to choose whether or not he wants to remain as a private citizen or live a life that’s part of the monarchy.
One family friend told royal journalist Katie Nicholl there’s a good reason why Princess Eugenie doesn’t want to give her child a title, seeing how she’s seen both sides of the spectrum when it comes to royal life. The source said,
“Eugenie knows that a title can be a curse as well as a blessing and she and Jack want their child to live an ordinary life and eventually work to earn a living.”
Despite having their own royal titles, both Princess Eugenie and her sister Princess Beatrice are not currently considering to be senior working royals, and they do not have to carry out any full-time duties on behalf of Queen Elizabeth. So far Princess Eugenie has not made any comments about her pregnancy, but has stated that her child is due sometime in early 2021.
