Katherine Heigl Opens Up About her Postpartum Weight Loss Journey

Katherine Heigl Opens Up About her Postpartum Weight Loss JourneyKatherine Heigl might have one of the most enviable figures in Hollywood, but according to the actress herself, her postpartum weight loss was quite a difficult road. The celebrity mother of three, who gave birth to her son Joshua Jr. earlier this year, opened up about getting her pre-baby body back on her official blog.

Katherine shared a photo of her enjoying some quality mother and son time with Josh on her Instagram account. She captioned the moment with, “Hey I totally forgot to mention there’s a new post up on the blog (link in bio) that covers my postpartum weight loss journey. It’s actually pretty relevant for anyone looking to shed some pounds post pregnancy or not. Check it out for the before and after pics and my best weight loss advice. Hint, it has nothing to do with calories or cardio! #thoseheavenlydays.”

The former Grey’s Anatomy star goes on to say that she, just like many other mothers in her position, struggled to shed those last few pounds during the end of her weight loss journey. She also has two daughters, Neleigh, 8, and Adalaide, 5, with her husband Josh Kelley.

She explained, “In the seven months since Joshua Jr was born I have managed to slowly but surely drop my pregnancy weight with only 10 pounds left to lose. I gained almost 50 pounds during my pregnancy and I’m not gonna lie, I had moments of sheer panic that I’d never be able to lose it all. I had hoped to only gain 25-30 pounds like my mother during her pregnancies but found that just wasn’t possible for me.”

Katherine added, “Low calorie meals are an important part of losing weight for me. I don’t burn a tremendous amount of calories a week because I’m not into those high impact cardio or weight training classes. So I have to be somewhat mindful of what and how much I’m eating.”
