11 Books That Should Be On Every Kids Bookshelf
I am an avid reader and use every opportinuty to encourage my kids to read, lining the shelves with books, leaving them on tables, or in baskets next to a comfy chair- moms lap is the favorite though. Bright picture books with engaging stories that I can read to them are the best way to grab their interest.
We have built up quite a collection from board books to chapter books. But these 11 picture books are the ones that are winners, chosen night after night for story time or just to thumb through on their own. They love them not only for the wonderful illustrations but also the silly, entertaining stories they contain. Most of them contain a simple lesson, some are just silly, all are fun to read.
The other reason I chose these 11 are because they are wonderful for boys or girls from toddlerhood and beyond. So whether you are stocking your own shelves or looking for a great gift to pass on to someone these books are fantastic choices.
