Blake Lively: My Family Will Influence How I Raise My Baby
Blake Lively who is expecting her first child with husband Ryan Reynolds says she will look to to her own upbringing when parenting her future child.
“If I could pass along anything that my mother or my sisters taught me I feel like my kids would be very well off,” Lively said on the red carpet at the L’Oreal Paris 2014 Women of Worth Celebration in NYC on Tuesday (Dec. 2). “But also I’m fortunate enough to be amongst women like this…”
The actress also spoke of Preserve, her new lifestyle website.
“It’s definitely a baby for a reason. It’s been the greatest learning experience I’ve had. It’s so empowering to have a profession that I control,” Lively said. “I’m responsible for success or failure and that responsibility is one that I really appreciate.”
When asked if it’s possible to balance her acting career, a new lifestyle brand and motherhood, Lively said:
“To each their own,” she told, adding,“[My mom] had her own career and she raised five kids. She was superwoman and she was never satisfied by doing just one thing.”
Lively was at the L’Oreal Paris 2014 Women of Worth Celebration to honor women who’ve made a difference, including a 16-year-old honoree named Britney who started a charity to raise funds for cancer research and management.
