Year Long Skincare with CeraVe
The winters in Montreal are some of the coldest and after months of harsh weather you come to take full advantage of the warm months in the city. This summer my family spent lots of time doing outside activities like playing in the park, visiting our local neighborhood wading pool and taking a two-week vacation to a beautiful cottage.
The only problem with all this summer fun is that it can be stressful if you have a child that suffers from skin conditions. My three-year-old daughter, Ava, suffers from rashes on the back of her neck and dry skin. I take her skincare routine seriously during the winter months, but in the summer I have to be even more conscious. If I don’t, her skin will become dry and get rashes after being in the sun and water.
This summer I chose to use CeraVe® to protect my daughter’s dry/sensitive skin. CeraVe® is the first skincare brand to contain 3 Ceramides, Cholesterol and Fatty Acids as well as Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide to help hydrate and replenish the skin’s moisture barrier. The formulas have a unique patented delivery system called MVE® Technology that provides up to 24-hour hydration with just one application
I first tried the CeraVe® AM Facial Moisturizer with SPF 30 & PM Facial Moisturizer back in March after deciding the moisturizer I was using was making my chin acne worse. I liked how each moisturizer is fragrance free and light in texture to prevent clogging pores. The unique barrier building formula also helped reduce the severity and even prevented flare-ups on my face while leaving my skin soft and healthy.
Other Moisturizer Features:
– Ideal for normal to oily and combination skin
– Doesn’t interfere with your makeup regime
– Are the perfect product companions
– Work well with the CeraVe® Foaming Facial Cleanser
– Can be used alone or with topical acne, rosacea or eczema treatments
After the moisturizers saved me from searching forever for skincare products that “just work”, I decided to try the AM Facial Moisturizer with SPF 30 on Ava. During the summer, I put the moisturizer on her neck and face along with a sunhat before all our outdoor activities. The AM Facial Moisturizer with SPF 30 really helped make her underlying skin issues less severe and the amount of rashes she got this summer was less frequent than last. The moisturizer worked so well I will continue to use it on her during the winter months when the cold temperatures tend to make skin dry and chapped.
CeraVe® products can bought at all major drug, grocery and mass retailers in Canada.

I really like that it has an spf of 30. Lots of moisturizers I see only have 15, so this is great!
SPF 30 is great! My current moisturizer is only SPF 20. I will be trying this. Thanks.
This is my first time to hear about the brand, but their products look quite promising. Glad to know they’re safe for sensitive skin. 🙂
I’ve never used Cerave before but I love that its sensitive and doesn’t clog pores! Also I always look for moisturizers that contain SPF
My 19 month old son developed a severe bum rash a month ago that spread all over his body. Concerned we went to see our Dr who referred us to the dermatologist. He said that our son has Eczema and we should use Cerave lotion and clenser. It worked like magic. We now use it on our newborn as well
I’ve not heard of the brand either, but maybe it’s not available in the US. My daughter used to get very dry hands in the winter, but she’s doing better now that she’s older.
I like it is perfect for oily skins. I have an oily skin and it is hard for me to find appropriate products. I like that is fragrance free too
Oh, wow! I had never heard of this before. I’m going to have to share this with a friend of mine since her little one has really sensitive skin and awful eczema!
P.S. I had no idea you’re from Montreal! I’m a Montreal girl as well! Well, West Island girl! 🙂
I´ve never heard of this brand before. But this sounds like something I would like to try.
I don’t live in Canada so that is way I have probably never heard of this brand before. I have super sensitive skin-maybe some day it will be in the US as well.
This sounds like a great products for sensitive skin. Montreal is my home base now when I go back to Canada, and I know those winters well! I’m glad you found this! Thanks.
It’s funny that I stumbled across this post, my daughter has really dry skin and I saw this when I was at the grocery store and contemplated giving it a try. Will pick it up next time.
I have heard a lot of really good things about CeraVe skin care. I always get painfully dry skin in the winter, so a product that provides real 24-hour hydration sounds awesome!
I’m sorry that your daughter has to deal with this skin rash condition but so happy that you found something that works and that you’re sharing it with us!
My son still has some light rashes on the face, arms and legs. We use Eucerin to treat his. I’m not particular with any brand of facial moisturizers. I’m like most people who use SPF 15. SPF 30 if I can find at the drug store. But if I’m going on a hike, bike or jog, I make sure to put the sport SPF50 sunscreen on top of.
I too faced skin allergic issues while I had gall bladder stones. It was very irritating all over. Might be a case of having sensitive skin. sounds like CeraVe will be one of those best skin care product in the market.
I’m going to try this! I recently noticed my feet getting sore, very dry and cracking and I would love to find something to stop them from bleeding. My son also has eczema and could benefit something like this to resolve those skin irritations. Thanks for this review.
I like that the spf for the morning cream is quite so high. I didn’t realize until recently how important this was. Sounds like a great product.
I have tried ceraVe lotion and I like it… thanks for sharing…
