Kourtney Kardashian Opens Up About Her Parenting Style
In the April issue of Redbook magazine, Kourtney Kardashian opens up about being a mom to her children, 4-year-old Mason and 19-month-old Penelope while discussing her belief in attachment parenting.
The reality star who just launched a Kardashian Kids line with her sisters at Babies “R” Us, says she follows the attachment parenting philosophy when it comes raising her children.
“Both Mason and Penelope still sleep in my bed. It’s what came naturally to me; I didn’t plan it. When I had Mason, I just felt really attached to him, and wanted to bring him everywhere. He ended up sleeping with me, and I breast-fed for 14 months,” she told. “They go to sleep in their rooms, but end up in my bed, sometimes within minutes.”
Kardashian also emphasizes communication with her children.
“I wouldn’t say I’m strict. I love to communicate with my kids, and I constantly check in and try to talk things through instead,” she explains.
The mom-of-two adds motherhood has changed her in almost every aspect of her life.
“It has changed me in every way. My entire life changed when I became a mother—my priorities, my understanding, appreciation of life, and my relationship with God,” she admits.
