Mark Zuckerberg Planning Two-Month Paternity Leave
He might be the biggest name in the social media world but it looks like even Mark Zuckerberg needs a little time off to spend with his family. The Facebook founder has announced that he is planning a two-month paternity leave after his wife Priscilla Chan gives birth to the couple’s second child this fall.
Sharing an adorable Instagram photo of the couple’s daughter Max along with their family dog, Mark explained that he’ll be taking a much-needed break to focus on his family. He wrote, “Our new daughter is coming soon so I’m planning to take two months of paternity leave. I’m looking forward to bonding with our new little one and taking Max on adventures. I’m pretty sure the office will still be standing when I get back.”
This isn’t the first time Mark Zuckerberg has taken time off from work to be with his growing family. He also took a two-month paternity leave following the birth of his daughter Max back in November of 2015. He said at the time, “I will always be grateful I could spend so much time with her in the first months of her life.”
Luckily for Mark and his co-workers, Facebook has recently been named one of the best places for new dads to work because of its generous paternity leave policy. The company offers four months of maternity and paternity leave for new parents because according to Mark, “studies show that when working parents take time to be with their newborns, it’s good for the entire family.”
It’s also without a doubt that once the newest member of the Zuckerberg family arrives, Mark will definitely share new photos of his and Priscilla’s newest bundle of joy. As a matter of fact, he loves to share pics of Max and his behind-the-scenes life as a hands-on dad on both Facebook and Instagram, too. We can’t wait to see more soon!
