Not crawling yet…
So we’ve gotten a lot of weird looks and comments because our little man is not crawling yet. He’s only six months old but a lot of our other friend’s baby’s started at five months.
It is definitely hard not to compare your child to other people’s children especially when we have a niece that is 6 weeks older than our little guy and she has been crawling for the past two months! I was at my mommy and me class and there was a five month old sitting on her own and doing a push up!
It made me feel better when I read that the average age for babies to learn to crawl is between 7 and 10 months. He tries to move his arms and now lifts his bottom up but gets bored or frustrated and just rests his head on the ground. My husband’s grandmother said that she taught him how to crawl by getting on the ground and showing him. It is pretty funny but I get on the ground every afternoon and “show” him how to crawl. My husband gets home from work and does the same thing. If you came to our house and saw us doing it, you would seriously think we are nuts. LOL! Not sure if it is really working but his grandma says it does so we are trying it.
As a first-time mom, I don’t mind that he is not crawling yet especially since he is growing up so fast. I can’t believe he is holding his own spout cup, sleeping in his crib, eating solid foods, and sitting on his own. He’s 29 inches and I can barely hold him sideways in the rocker. I remember when we brought him home from the hospital, he was swaddled and I could hold him in one arm! *tear*
We have a road trip planned next month to visit my husband’s grandparents so he is hoping baby will be crawling by then. Time for this mama to get on all fours and show baby how to crawl! LOL!
When did your little ones start crawling?
