The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Patty’s Fury Explodes After Jack Risks His Life for Diane

The Young and The Restless: Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman)

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) blocked his son from attempting to rescue Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters).

Instead, he wanted to have Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) lure Dr. Laurence Markham (Jere Burns) away from his home, and that effort proves foolish.

Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) recently warned Jack. She was direct, stating that Diane would become collateral damage if he didn’t go along with her plan.

The plan is for Jack to never be with Diane again and for Patty to become his renewed wife. It feels like the rescue effort will accelerate the danger.

Dr. Markham Is A Consummate Liar

Viewers watched Diane’s meltdown after Dr. Markham told her that Jack called him.

He told his captive that Jack allowed him to reveal that he’d asked Patty to move into the Abbott mansion.

Fans recalled Diane’s conversations with herself while Burns’ character was off-screen. In them, she planned to outwit the man who clearly was colluding with Patty.

So, it wasn’t a great surprise when Diane’s internal thoughts confirmed that she knows Dr. Markham is a complete liar. She is now convinced that he and Patty are working together.

Susan Walters Throws Down In The Forest

Kudos to Walters for delivering one of her best performances since the arc that revived his character. Devoted fans remember the range Walters offered during the storyline where it was revealed that Diane faked her death.

Digitally skipping to today, Walters’ character was kidnapped and is being held at a secured location by Dr. Markham.

The Young and The Restless: Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk)

The tense chemistry between both actors has been terrific and also represents an inside television wink at the audience.

As an aside, Walters and Burns were part of the Judd Hirsch-led late 1980s and early 1990s sitcom, Dear John.

In that fondly remembered show, the one-time Taxi star found a letter from his wife, thus the show’s title.

Hirsch’s character, John Lacey, joined a support group for people who were divorced or single, with Walters portraying Mary Beth Sutton, and Burns, as a comic foil, portraying Kirk Morris, who was a braggart and consummate liar.

Patty Williams Attacks When She Doesn’t Get Her Way

Patty’s history of violence and death is legendary. Fans may have noticed a recent chain she was wearing included what appeared to be the head of a black cat, which would link back to the various cats she had in the past.

Jack has long been her obsession, which stretches all the way back to 1980, when Tammy Taylor (Patty) was the original actor who played this role. Haiduk’s first stint was from 2009 through 2016.

The audience suspects that mayhem is definitely ahead, with Dr. Markham probably becoming the collateral damage Patty referenced.

Burns’ side character can be easily eliminated during or at the conclusion of the storyline, where Diane will eventually be rescued or, more likely, free herself. Whether Patty is put back in a mental institution, jailed, escapes, or perishes is an open question.
