The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Distance Between Nikki And Victor Widens Because Of Lily And Cane
The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) remains separated from her husband. That conflict is widening based on Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) decision to pay Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) off with Chancellor.
As viewers recall, Victor made a shift that caused Nikki to bristle in the recent past. He made a change at Newman Media, removing her as its head. But that only happened because he offered her the chance to lead the company of her greatest mentor and friend.
Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) name is still celebrated thirteen years after her death. But Nikki’s reign atop that legacy company proved brief and appears unrecoverable.
Lily Winters Agreed To Fake Kidnapping
So much has happened in recent months. There was a period when Victor was trying to force Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) to help him regain control of Newman Enterprises. That was necessary because Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) used Cane’s artificial intelligence program to steal Victor’s company and simultaneously push Flynn’s character out of the corporate picture.
In recent days, Phyllis was forced to relinquish control of what she called Summers Conglomerate. Victor again owns the company he founded after leaving Chancellor Industries more than fifty years after Katherine recruited him, which caused Victor’s move to Genoa City, Wisconsin.
Reclaiming Newman Enterprises allowed Victor to fulfill a promise he made to Lily. She agreed to his scheme and pretended to be kidnapped, with the twins, by Victor as a means of teaching Cane a lesson.
Cane Ashby Leads Katherine Chancellor’s Legacy Company
How ironic that after all the soapy machinations, Cane is set to lead Chancellor. Katherine cared about Cane after initially being fooled into believing he was family. The truth was revealed, but it didn’t impact her grandmotherly feelings for him.
Lily sees Cane in a refreshed light after his selfless donation. A mini storyline allowed Shemar Moore’s (Malcolm Winters) latest cast return and led to Cane donating bone marrow that saved his ex- and potentially future father-in-law’s life.
Nikki learning about the above naturally outrages her. This development means that she has no path back to Chancellor and also has the man who created turmoil for her family supplanting her.
Victor Newman Is Working With Matt Clark
In addition to the Chancellor angle, Nikki is astonished that Victor is not only working with Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) but is allowing him to live on the Ranch. She can’t imagine that her estranged husband wants that warped soul to be near their loved ones.
Victor sees Matt’s amnesia as exploitable. He’s convinced Howarth’s character to do his bidding in an attempt to cozy up to Cane.
Lily is sure to join Nikki’s outrage when she eventually learns that Victor is attempting to attack the man she’s falling back in love with. Cane has realized a better place, personally and professionally, but having Victor and Matt on his back implies serious danger is directly ahead.
