The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Mariah Unravels as the Truth Emerges — Ian Is Still Alive

The Young and The Restless: Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes)

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) continues to face mental health issues. Whether she actually attempted to smother a man to death or killed him remains to be seen because of her seeming Ian Ward (Ray Wise) dreams.

Grimes’ character has been sporadically seen in recent months, with readers of this comprehensive soap site knowing that the actor married last month. She and Brock Powell, a Disney voice actor. The couple was introduced to each other by Y&R co-star Bryton James (Devon Winters) earlier this decade.

So, with the wedding and honeymoon, Grimes naturally needed some time off-screen. That resulted in a flashback storyline that viewers began seeing earlier this year. In it, Mariah met an older man, Will Hensley (Michael Swan), while on a business trip for Cassidy First.

Who Is Will Hensley, And Is He Dead?

Will is played by daytime veteran Swan and has only been seen within Mariah’s spotty memories. They were initially seated, having drinks, and then seen kissing.

Mariah later revealed that they went to a room, she had a pillow, and either tried to kill him or did so. But those plot points are sketchy because of Mariah’s mental health issues that led to her voluntary check-in at a facility in Boston, Massachusetts.

Viewers are right to wonder if anything happened with or to Will. It’s possible she did engage with him and attempt to kill him in response to being drugged or because of her unknown mental state at that point in the plot. But there is another angle that has yet to be fully explained.

The Young and The Restless: Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks)

Tessa Porter Connects With Daniel Romalotti

Meanwhile, Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) has been put through the wringer. She hasn’t been able to understand why Mariah would push her and Aria (Maddie and Millie Ingle) away.

Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) has become close to Tessa this fall. They bonded because of Mariah’s absence.

Devoted soap viewers understand that this intermediary period of Grimes’ time away from the set allows for Daniel and Tessa to develop an unexpected relationship. It’s hard to predict if it will last, but both people have genuine feelings for each other and a sound connection.

Ian Ward Seemingly Imaginary And Still Not Dead

Two things can be true simultaneously. The Ian that Mariah is interacting with at the facility is purely in her head. Secondly, Wise’s character isn’t dead.

Viewers were privy to the shocking reality of Ian’s survival. That happened while he was being transported from the Newman Ranch house to the morgue. Ian’s loud gasp and awakening confirmed he hadn’t died.

But the above doesn’t necessarily mean that he’s physically present with Mariah. However, a potential link to the mysterious character Swan is playing surely is plausible, as is an eventual return to torment Mariah, her family, and friends, when she returns to Genoa City, Wisconsin.
