General Hospital star Kirsten Storms and Days of Our Lives star Brandon Barash both shocked the world when they announced that they were divorcing back in 2016.

“We are splitting due to the cliché irreconcilable differences, but we’re splitting amicably,” Brandon said at the time. Of course, a lot of people still want to know what the story was behind their split. Apparently, it’s not what you’d expect.

Speaking to Maurice Benard’s State of Mind podcast, Kristen said that her divorce from Brandon was not the dramatic kind at all.

There was no cheating, there were no big fights, and there certainly wasn’t a scandal. Instead, they just fell out of love.

She confessed, “It was completely platonic. “I think once we got married it was obvious after a certain point it wasn’t going to work on a romantic level. I’m not going to say that our divorce was great, because it wasn’t, but divorce is always hard. I felt like I failed at this thing I had committed myself to. And I’m sure he felt the same way.”

What Happened To Kirsten And Brandon’s Marriage?

And while it’s certainly common for many people to fall out of love, Kristen said that she felt devastated that their daughter Harper would be living in two separate homes and have a broken family.

That’s one of the reasons why she’s remained so close to Brandon over the years, even though they are no longer together.

She put it this way, “Because I’ve cried with Brandon in the last few years about feeling like Harper has a broken family and she doesn’t have a lot of friends who have divorced parents.

But what I can do to better that for her is get along with her dad. We love our child so much. And we put her and her happiness first.”

Their plan to put their daughter first has definitely worked. Kristen and Brandon have definitely set the standard when it comes to two celebrity parents co-parenting. In fact, they’ve set the standard so high that many people might not be able to achieve what they have done.

Even though Brandon is now married to Isabella Devoto. They often have family dinners together on Sunday evenings and spend time at each other’s homes.

Here’s hoping that the good vibes between them – despite all of the emotions that come with a divorce – remain.
