The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Cane’s Explosive Alliance With Victor – Billy Capable Of Stopping Jabot Takeover?
The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) didn’t intend to do Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) bidding. But he apparently has to because of the intel Victor located.
Cane believes that his late father acquired vast amounts of wealth honestly. He’s told everyone the same story, including Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), which implies that Cane thinks Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers) was serious about end-of-life redemption.
However, Victor either has information or is taking bits and pieces of it that make it appear as though Colin stole a vast fortune. That would tie back to Atkinson’s character stealing Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) money that was willed to her grandson, Devon Winters (Bryton James).
How Did Colin Atkinson Pull It Off?
Devoted fans recall that Colin targeted Devon’s inheritance in the late 2010s. Katherine passed in 2013, so that storyline took place years later and at the tail end of Daniel Goddard’s (the original Cane) run on Y&R, which wrapped in 2019.
It’s no stretch to believe that Colin turned his focus elsewhere after Devon cemented his claim and was proven as Katherine’s intended heir to the bulk of her fortune. Believing that he swindled someone else or amassed enough wealth to create what Cane calls Arabesque is natural.
It feels plausible that the name of Cane’s company has some purposeful meaning. So, that’s either part of his overall cloaked strategy or Colin developed the name, alone or in conjunction with his son, so the corporation could be formed.

Cane Ashby Remains Confident In Business
Cane’s feelings about reuniting with Lily are vastly different than the demeanor he projects about business matters. He continues to offer smirks and straight-eyed confidence when speaking about controlling all the legacy companies in Genoa City, Wisconsin.
The suddenness of Cane’s wealth, combined with his father’s seemingly well-considered plan, combines to give Flynn’s character an air of inevitability. Of course, nothing is ever certain in GC with the possible exception of Victor emerging victorious, as his invented first name intended.
Cane is a new man, with a wink at Victor’s invented last name. Fans are watching the early days of the recast of this character and seeing Cane purposely aim for a mammoth business goal as he never did when Goddard embodied that character.
Billy Abbott Will Defend His Family First
Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) just couldn’t take it. While he wanted to be part of Cane’s new business venture, Billy is opposed to that, including Jabot.
It was smart and right to tell Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) that Cane was aiming for Jabot. But Billy will need to follow through on his claims of family loyalty and also play a key role in derailing Cane’s efforts.
Viewers know that Cane is managing Billy and likely using him to feed crumbs to Jack as part of an overall strategy. But Cane might be underestimating Billy’s ability to help the Abbotts stave off a hostile takeover and also retaliate against him for even trying.
