Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Has Leo Stark Really Changed, Or Is He The Same Old Schemer?

Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates pose a very important question. Has Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) really changed, or is he the same old schemer?
Leo Stark’s Journey- How A Salem Schemer Became A Soul-Searching Citizen
Back in 2018, Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel) hired Leo to charm Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker) and create a major scandal. Leo’s antics led to Sonny losing his CEO role at Titan Industries. Since then, Leo has committed numerous terrible acts against the residents of Salem.
However, he has always maintained his wit, charm, and humor. Even while engaging in villainous behavior towards Sonny, Will Horton (Chandler Massey), and many others in Salem.
Leo’s Scandalous Past
It appears that in the past year and a half, Leo has been on a journey of self-discovery, aiming to improve himself-his actions towards Sonny and Will were quite terrible. However, what he did to his close friend Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) by having an affair with her husband Dimitri von Leuschner (Peter Porte) was even worse.
Leo and Gwen had a long-standing friendship, unlike his earlier actions against Sonny and Will, where he was simply hired and they were strangers.
This time, he betrayed the trust of his best friend; Leo was infatuated with Dimitri, leading him to disregard their friendship completely, he disrespected it entirely.
Now, Gwen’s back, and Javi Hernandez (Al Calderon) is discovering things about Leo that he was unaware of, and he certainly does not appreciate hearing these things about his boyfriend.
From Lady Whistleblower To Legitimate Employee?
With Lady Whistleblower in his rear view, it seemed like Leo had truly changed his sneaky and deceitful ways; but with Gwen back, has he really? There’s been a significant change, especially over the last 6 months or so; he persuaded Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) to allow him to become a serious investigative reporter at the Spectator. During that time, and a bit before, Leo has been a model citizen of Salem.
His fencing the Horton family necklace Doug Williams III (Peyton Meyer) stole was the shadiest thing Leo has done in a while, but at that time, he didn’t have all the facts. Recently, he also wrote a very thoughtful article/obituary about John Black (Drake Hogestyn) after he passed away; not only that, but Leo has put in the effort.
Leo Went Into Therapy With Marlena Evans
He has spent a lot of time reflecting on himself and started counseling with Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall). This happened after he received a Dear John letter from Dimitri while he was in prison, as Dimitri found a romance there and left Leo.
However, his therapist Marlena believes that Leo has made notable strides in dealing with his insecurities and past traumas; but has he truly improved? Or is he still the same Leo, just a bit more aware of the darkness he keeps hidden? That’s an interesting question.

Javi’s Good Influence And Gwen’s Warning
Javi has had a positive impact on Leo; now, they along with Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jiminez), are fostering Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd) and Tate Black’s (Leo Howard) son, whom they named Tesoro.
However, with Gwen recently returning to Salem, Leo is naturally reflecting on his dark past-Gwen even cautioned Javi that he was making a mistake by getting involved with someone like Leo. We all noticed that Javi seemed a bit unsettled by what Mrs. Von Leuschner said about Leo.
There are things Leo kept from Javi, but he did reveal some of his past wrongdoings, though not everything-thanks to Gwen, we witnessed Leo being compelled to confess even more to Javi. He had to deal with more emotional issues for his boyfriend, but luckily, Javi still cares for Leo.
Javi Loves Leo In Spite Of His Mistakes
Javi cares for Leo, but he disapproves of Leo’s past actions; he was especially taken aback when he learned about Leo’s betrayal of his former best friend. If someone can betray their best friend, they might also betray their partner, right? So when Gwen, Leo’s ex-best friend, confronted him in front of Javi, all Leo could do was apologize and admit he had learned from his mistakes.
Now, this situation is causing Leo to question if he is fit to be the foster baby’s daddy if he and Javi are allowed to adopt him.
However, we’ve seen a gentler side of Leo as he and Javi take care of the little boy- Javi even mentioned that he believes Leo could be a great father one day.
Has Leo Really Changed, And Can He Convince Salem And The Show’s Fans?
When Will came to town for John’s funeral, Leo tried to make amends with him. He can’t change the past, but he recognized how wrong he was in his actions towards Will and Sonny. We also know that many of Leo’s problems stem from his cruel mother, Diana Colville (Judith Chapman), and his abusive fathe.
Remember how thrilled Leo was when Diana claimed John was his father-he believed he finally had a good male role model. John was willing to take on the father role, but then Diana revealed her lie, shattering her son’s hopes once more.
First, Convincing Gwen, Then The Rest Should Be Easy
If Leo can win Gwen’s forgiveness and regain her trust, everything else should fall into place. Even Gabi, who has held a grudge against him for a long time, told Arianna Horton (Marissa Reyes) that she didn’t want Leo to move in at first, but she changed her mind.
She also realizes that Javi truly loves him, which is making her more accepting. Chad has also become more lenient-he is getting along with Leo, despite the fact that Leo took Abigail Deveraux’s (Marci Miller) jewelry on the day she was killed.
So, perhaps Leo has a chance to stay on the right track to proving he has genuinely changed- then, maybe he can convince us viewers that he has changed too.

Greg Rikkart does a fantastic job as Leo. I like the characters shenanigans but I also like the new and improved Leo.
