Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates tease Salem Police Commissioner Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) is so thankful for Wendy Shin’s (Victoria Grace) help he hires her for the SPD.
If it wasn’t for Wendy helping make fake passports for Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) and Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) may never have been found alive and rescued.

EJ DiMera (Dan Feurreriegel) had fired Wendy for looking in his phone, and finding evidence he hired the hitwoman who shot at Ava and Harris in Bayview.
But in the end, Ava and Harris had brought back EJ’s mother alive to him, and Wendy and Tripp Johnson’s (Lucas Adams) help was a big part of that process. But there’s still the fact that EJ sent that hitwoman, and Rafe’s determined to take him down for that.
But for now, Wendy needs a job and Rafe has one to give her – she’s a very talented and skillful computer systems person.
The city’s and the SPD’s computer system never did recover completely from Orpheus’ (George DelHoyo) hack job over a year ago, but Wendy thinks she can fix it all.
DOOL Spoilers: Wendy Shin Is Grateful For The Job
Wendy is grateful for the job, and the ability to help the police catch bad guys-she know a lot about analyzing DNA as well, and can help with that.
She aims to get the systems repaired and up to snuff, before she offers to help with DNA matches; she’ll be a big help in the cybercrimes unit.
She intends to put up firewalls that no hacker, no matter how smart they think they are, can break through-Wendy tells Rafe that someone inside must have leaked a password.
What Wendy is doing will prevent that from ever happening again-she’ll make as many improvements as the current system will allow, being a little outdated.
She wishes they were upgraded to only allow fingerprint or biometric scan access, and Rafe is impressed but the budget won’t allow for those types of upgrades!

Wendy’s chomping at the bit and wants to start right now but Rafe tells her there’s still an onboarding process through human resources.
But he will make sure it goes quickly, because the need is desperate at the SPD for someone with her kind of expertise. She has no competitors for the position so her hiring is sure, all that has to be done is the formalities.
As soon as formalities with human resources are through Wendy can start right away. She feels good about working for and with the police after so much sneaky stuff at DiMera.
