The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) is where she should be, in jail. However, viewers see that her story isn’t over just yet.
Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) couldn’t get over the sight of finding her husband with Patty on that yacht.
Despite learning that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) was drugged, Diane was incapable of forgiving him, and that led to her kidnapping, near death, and Jack being brutally stabbed.
Thankfully, Patty’s latest murderous intentions weren’t realized. Diane and Jack survived her attempts to kill them, and they are reconciled.
Jack admitted that he had wronged Patty badly. But that was so many years ago, with their first of two marriages happening in 1982, and it justifies zero percent of her many payback attempts.
He’s not responsible for her current mental health issues, the ineptitude of the supposed justice system, or a crooked psychiatrist. Jack doesn’t feel guilty and shouldn’t.
The origin story of Patty’s break from reality is something longtime, devoted fans watched and recall.
Newer fans, including those who have been watching in the past ten or twenty years, know that the character Haiduk plays lives in a fantasy world and that the system failed Jack and now Diane badly.
Faking her death was a horrifically bad choice. But Diane revealed herself in recent years and eventually reestablished trust with Jack and their son, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
Diane admitted to feeling that she never overcame the guilt of abandoning her child when she was young and his father.
But that is the past, and she, along with Jack and Kyle, should focus on the here and now, along with all the tomorrows they can experience together. Plus, there’s Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell), who is the next generation of the Abbott family.
Saving Jack’s life is something that affected the hearts and minds of her in-laws. Traci Abbott’s (Beth Maitland) doubts are gone, and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) sees that Diane truly loves Jack.
That, along with Abby Newman Winters’ (Melissa Ordway) blessing and Lauren Fenmore Baldwin’s (Tracey Bregman) encouragement, means the world to Diane.
Kyle intends to go after Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), who is the reason why Patty was injected back into the Abbotts’ lives. While Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) declined the offer to help his nephew with this attack, Patty’s considerations are different.
There’s no plausible chance that Patty earns legal credit for aiding Kyle’s payback cause. So, Kyle needs a different approach.
He needs to convince the woman who attempted to kill his parents that Victor is her target now.
The Moustache manipulated her fragile mind and aimed her at his enemies. So, Kyle will need to make Patty see that reality, and then he might be able to gain her jailed assistance in whatever plot he’s forming.
