Reason For Lindsay Lohan’s Stepmom Arrest Revealed
Lindsay Lohan’s stepmother, Kate Lohan, has been arrested in Texas and charged with attacking the ‘Mean Girls’ actress’ father, Michael Lohan.

Kate Lohan Punched Lindsay Lohan’s Father And Gave Him A Bloody Nose
According to TMZ, Kate, 42, was arrested on the suspicion of attacking a family member on Tuesday, April 14. This incident occurred after an altercation broke out between Kate and Lindsay’s father, Michael Lohan, which allegedly led to the latter being struck in the face by the former.
Per the documents, giving him a bloody nose was not the only cause of harm or alarm she caused, as she also threw a serrated knife in Michael’s direction. She’s currently being held at the Harris County Jail in Houston on a $35,000 bond.
Per the documents, Kate “unlawfully, intentionally, knowingly and recklessly cause bodily injury to Michael Lohan.”
Published by PEOPLE, the motion for sufficient bail saw the complainant’s legal team claim that “The defendant struck the complainant’s face and threw a serrated knife in the complainant’s direction, striking the complainant’s shoulder.”
On Wednesday, April 15, the court granted Michael an emergency order of protection. On that same day, the court ordered Kate to cease contact with Michael, as well as submit to an alcohol test. The documents also stated that Kate is not permitted to use controlled substances like Marijuana, or own a firearm.
Kate and Michael Lohan’s Shared Past of Domestic Violence
The child star’s father became engaged to Kate in 2010 when she was 27 and he was nearly 50.
The couple would go on to tie the knot in 2014, with Kate filing for divorce a mere four years later on the grounds that the marriage was “irretrievably broken.” Even though Florida prosecutors did not find sufficient evidence to file charges, Michael had accused Kate of throwing a glass candle, which shattered and cut his arm, at the time.
Michael, who shares two sons with Kate, has also been accused several times of domestically abusing Kate, with the allegations going as far back as 2011.
In 2025, Kate called the police because she believed Michael was stalking her. A few days later, Michael was arrested for allegedly flipping “her out of a chair at their residence a few days earlier.”
