General Hospital Spoilers: The Truth Behind Cassius Faison’s Secret and His Fiery Revenge Plan

General Hospital spoilers and updates tease that not Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) has been recognized as his twin brother, Cassius Faison.
We know Nathan was a good person, a truly good person-but what about his twin Cassius; is he the bad twin, or was he simply brought up by someone wicked?
We Can Assume Cesar Faison Somehow Got Ahold Of Nathan’s Twin And Raised Him
We can assume, until proven otherwise, that Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) somehow obtained Nathan’s twin and raised him.
We’ll discuss what we know so far about Nathan’s mysterious twin brother and whether Cassius is Faison 2.0 or perhaps Nathan 2.0, who might not be so bad. Honestly, the truth might lie somewhere in the middle, and it could be changing.
This week, we finally learned what fans suspected from the moment Ryan Paevey returned: Nathan was a fake. General Hospital confirmed this six months after Ryan’s return.
Sidwell Summoned “Not-Nathan” To Wyndemere And Called Him Cassius Faison
It all unfolded when Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) summoned not-Nathan to Wyndemere and referred to him by his real name, Cassius Faison.
That entire discussion with Sidwell provided a wealth of information. He told Cassius he had done an excellent job deceiving everyone into thinking he was Nathan.
It was also evident from that conversation that he works for Sidwell, not the other way around, and they are not partners.
Additionally, there was a new interview with Ryan Paevey confirming that Cassius is a henchman-he stated that he is working for Sidwell and their main boss, Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes).
Cassius Has Been Working For Sidwell A Long Time
We learned from General Hospital that Cassius has been working for Sidwell for quite some time.
It’s also noteworthy that he came up with the idea to assume his twin brother’s identity, re-enter the PCPD, and connect with many people in Port Charles. Sidwell praised him for not only thinking of the idea but also executing it so effectively.
It seems Cassius is deeply involved with Sidwell and Cullum, and together they are infiltrating every part of Port Charles. They control the piers, he has connections with the police, and Sidwell has sway in the political arena.
All This Points To Cassius Being A Villain, But Maybe Not That Bad
Clearly, these are warning signs indicating that Cassius is a villain, especially since he works for the notorious Cullum and Sidwell.
However, in the end, Cassius might not be as bad as he seems; he may be a mixed character, like Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart). At this moment, though, he certainly is bad; in a recent interview, Ryan Paevey acknowledged that Cassius is indeed bad, but clarified that it’s not in the same way as Faison.
Interestingly, Ryan mentioned that he was specifically cast to portray Cassius, not Nathan. So, if you thought Cassius’s role was a last-minute twist, it wasn’t; the General Hospital writers had this planned since last year.
Britt Is Intimidated By Cassius
It’s also unsettling that Cassius agreed with Sidwell about dealing with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) for jeopardizing the Cold Fusion project; Cassius definitely intimidates Britt-she recognized him immediately.
She knew from the beginning that he was not Nathan; chances are, he was part of the group that rescued her from the hook death and has been involved in using Britt to further Faison’s project.
Unless they are planning some sort of retcon, Cassius and Britt wouldn’t have grown up together.
Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) primarily raised Britt, trying to keep her away from her father, even though she was aware that Faison was her dad and a truly terrible person.
Britt spent more time with him as an adult, especially before he passed away; meanwhile, it seems Faison raised Cassius on his own. This raises even more questions.
Cassius Didn’t Grow Up With Love In His Life
Ryan Paevey mentioned that Cassius did not have a good upbringing like his twin brother. He stated that Cassius was never shown love or even affection; Faison wasn’t exactly known for being warm and friendly.
Cassius is surprised by the attention he receives while pretending to be Nathan, as everyone liked Nathan-now, Cassius is experiencing what it feels like to be liked, something he has never felt before.
Not only that, people loved Nathan so, Cassius is absorbing all these new positive emotions and experiences. It’s transformative; Ryan noted that initially, playing Nathan was just beneficial for his bosses, Sidwell and Cullum.
It Began As An Arrangement
It began as a practical arrangement-however, Cassius is genuinely forming a bond with both Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) and James West (Gary James Fuller).
That’s a fact; and of course, James is his nephew, not his son. This may be part of why Cassius hesitated a bit with Sidwell about joining the PCPD and obtaining information regarding Marco Rios’ (Adrian Anchondo) murder.
Cassius wants to ensure he can continue living Nathan’s life because he is enjoying it more and more each day. Ryan Paevey mentioned that Lulu and James will be a weak spot for Cassius since he cares about them and genuinely wants to keep them safe.
Cassius Cares About Lulu, James And Rocco
It’s odd because Cassius has only cared about himself, having no reason to care for others; yet, he’s already lying for them.
He knows that Lulu’s son, Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr), shot Cullum, but he deceived Sidwell, making him believe that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) was the shooter.
Cassius is also pressuring Lulu to stop searching for Jason, saying, “Just let it go so we can protect Rocco.” However, this is really about advancing Cassius’s own interests. Lulu, on the other hand, confronted Cassius this week.

Lulu Got Upset With “Nathan”
She got upset because she interpreted his words as blaming Britt and Jason for the incident. This might lead Lulu to question why Nathan hasn’t been curious about his absence for the last seven years or why he hasn’t investigated it, considering he’s a cop.
Lulu may find this lack of curiosity quite peculiar as she reflects on it. Additionally, Cassius made a slip when he mentioned being trapped in a blizzard and how his dad made him memorize the periodic table of elements.
She could simply return to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and inquire, “Did your dad have any particular feelings about the periodic table?” naturally,
Nina would respond, “No, certainly not.” Nathan cherished Britt; she was his sister-meanwhile, Cassius seems indifferent to her well-being, showing little concern for keeping her safe.
Cassius May Be Increasingly Conflicted
There’s a good chance we will witness Cassius increasingly conflicted between Cullum’s plans and his own desires.
These include continuing to be Nathan indefinitely to maintain his relationships with Lulu and James, to feel loved, and to experience things he has never had before.
So far, it appears that Cassius began on a negative path, but by inhabiting Nathan’s identity, he is absorbing positive influences that could lead to his transformation.
Cassius might have an opportunity to redeem himself and demonstrate that he can also be a good person-perhaps not as virtuous as Nathan, but certainly not as terrible as Faison.
