General Hospital Spoilers: Jason’s Danny Abandonment Causes Fan Uproar – Mistake For Dad To Leave Son To Help Britt?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that a familiar topic has popped up on social media due to Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) life-changing decision. Jason has promised Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) that he won’t abandon her, but that means Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) is getting abandoned instead!
At this point in the story, Jason plans to leave town for an indefinite amount of time and hide out with Britt in Canada while her medicine undergoes the reverse-engineering process.
Although that plan may ultimately go awry thanks to Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), we have to consider Jason’s perspective and the choice he’s making right now.
It’s clear that Jason loves Danny and would stick around to be a father to him if he could. However, Jason has also vowed to get Britt out of Cullum and Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) twisted web, so that’s a promise he intends to keep.
On social media, Jason’s storyline has brought some mixed feelings. Some fans get why Jason is putting Britt first since this is a life-and-death situation, but other viewers will like this isn’t fair to Danny.
Danny was devastated when Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) died, so he’s really latched onto Jason as his only remaining parent and someone he can rely on. Jason’s decision to leave Port Charles could take a toll on Danny and leave him with abandonment issues.
This isn’t the first time Jason and Danny have had to deal with some lengthy time apart. How many times can Jason put Danny through something like this before enough is enough?

Although Jason is a very beloved GH character, he still has flaws. Jason certainly isn’t going to win any father of the year awards for his behavior.
Jason’s spring exit is coming up soon, but Steve Burton claims he’ll be back this summer for more storylines.
In the meantime, Danny will have to suffer without Jason in Port Charles, but at least Jason knows he’s in good hands.
Jason already talked to Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) and Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) about appointing one of them as Danny’s guardian in case he couldn’t be around.
Plus, Jason asked Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) to be there for Danny and got Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) reassurance that she’d look out for Danny, too.
Nevertheless, there’s going to be a Jason-shaped hole in Danny’s heart while his dad’s away, so some fans aren’t too happy with Jason abandoning him like this.
General Hospital spoilers say Danny will have to figure out a way to cope once Jason’s departure news hits hard, so stay tuned. Be sure to make us your favorite GH hotspot for all the exciting General Hospital spoilers and news you need!
