General Hospital Spoilers: How Will Maxie Explain Her Discomfort Over Lulu and Nathan to Spinelli?

General Hospital spoilers suggest Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) is anything but bashful when it comes to whatever is on her mind or her personal feelings on something.

But we just might see her fumble over her words if she is forced to explain her newfound anger toward Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) to Damien Spinelli (Bradford Anderson).

Honestly, he probably shouldn’t be the first person she runs to confide in about this. It’s too sensitive of a subject for him. From his point of view, she probably shouldn’t care as much as she does if Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) moves on.

And hey, why wouldn’t she want him to move on with someone she loves so very much and definitely approves of? This is going to send up all kinds of red flags that she’s not quite as over her ex-hubs as she proclaimed.

Spinelli’s Nerves are Shot

This guy is already on his last leg. He was on cloud nine when Maxie came home and told him he was the one she wanted to spend the rest of her life with.

Now, it’s going to feel like that was very short-lived. Is this just the other shoe dropping? Is reality setting in for Maxie that Nathan is going to move on and she’ll have to see him with another woman, be that Lulu or someone else? Is that more than she can handle? How on Earth is she going to explain her upset to Spinelli without alarming him further?

Felicia Could Make Matters Worse

Remember that Felicia Scoprio (Kristina Wagner) saw Lulu and Nathan kissing at the hospital last week. If she tells Maxie this news, it’s bound to land hard.

The image of them being that intimate with one another could make Maxie feel like her best friend has stolen someone who belonged to her, even if she just declared that’s not the person she wants to be with. Maxie thought she had more time to get used to the reality of Nathan being back.

Having him back — and kissing her bestie — is a lot to wrap her head around. Spinelli might logically understand that, but emotionally, it’s not going to be easy to see Maxie tied up in knots over another man.

The Love of Her Life

Spinelli wasn’t born yesterday. He knows that Nathan was the great love of Maxie’s life. Even Lulu didn’t deny that when he said it out loud.

But his relationship with Maxie has its own special traits that make it stronger in some ways, and let’s not forget that it takes two — okay? Lulu didn’t go to Maxie claiming she has a crush on her husband. She said she and Nathan have feelings for each other.

The normal response would be for Maxie to wonder what Nathan would have done had she chosen him.

If she gives him more of a pass than she gives Lulu, that’s going to signal to Spinelli that she’s angry at Lulu for having feelings for Nathan, but willing to forgive Nathan for returning them.
