The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Phyllis Stands Alone as Daniel Is Proven Wrong
The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) got what she wanted, but the costs are mounting. She has lost the trust of her most valued assets, her children.
Summer Newman (last played by Allison Lanier) didn’t give Phyllis a warm reception in Italy. Then, when the current head of the stolen Newman Enterprises returned to the States, Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) accused her of being responsible for Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) and the twins’ kidnapping.
Phyllis told her son that Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) family is fine, and viewers know that she’s right. But Daniel can’t tell when his mother is telling the truth or how to predict what she’ll do next.
Cane Ashby Connection Yielded Results
Cane sought Phyllis out. He believed her skill set would be useful as he took hostile control of every legacy business in Genoa City, Wisconsin.
But the former Aristotle Dumas didn’t anticipate three deaths at his chateau in France and all that followed. Most importantly, Phyllis stole the artificial intelligence program that Cane’s minions at Arabesque created.
Viewers wondered if Phyllis was using Cane all along. That became more than speculation when she chloroformed him and took control of Newman Enterprises. Her side deal with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) rubbed additional soapy salt into Cane’s wounds.
Daniel Romalotti Is Around And Relevant
The Summer character is off-screen. So, the only connection to Phyllis that can be mined is Daniel.

Cane is seeking Daniel’s input and assistance. Whether Flynn’s character can produce anything of substance through an attempted alignment with Phyllis’ son remains to be seen.
Daniel is falling in love with Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks). So, his mother’s latest drama escapade is an annoyance. That would imply Daniel won’t go along with any plan Cane might pitch to him.
However, Daniel doesn’t want to see his mom continue to flail or remain in Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) crosshairs like she is now. One coming comeuppance will be when he learns that Phyllis was right about Lily and the twins, with those three people being part of Victor’s game to teach Cane a lesson.
Phyllis Summers Is Doing It All Alone
There’s no doubt that Phyllis is brilliant. She’s talented, resilient, highly attractive, and tough.
But any one person maintains a corporation through the support of multiple people. Business world help can be bought. But personal relationships are what allow balance and increase the potential for sustained success.
Phyllis stands alone, which is where she wants to be. With a slight aid from Billy, Stafford’s character took the opportunity Cane’s lack of focus gave her.
However, keeping power will be a monumental and daily task that Phyllis can’t possibly maintain on her own indefinitely. At some point in the plot, she will need at least one ally, or failure will arrive sooner than expected.
