The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers document that Will Spencer (Crew Morrow) didn’t think anything was wrong. But his inexperience with committed relationships is the issue, and his ex-girlfriend shares the same status.
It doesn’t appear that Will or Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace) have felt the way they do about each other as they have about anyone else.
It doesn’t seem that Will had another long-term girlfriend while he was trotting the globe before being SORAS’d (soap opera rapid aging syndrome), and Electra’s backstory has been limited to her supposed friend, Remy Price (Christian Weissman).
Electra’s state of mind hadn’t fully settled after she and Will were targeted by Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada). But Grace’s character stood by Will, and they were stronger in the short term. That term has ended, as viewers witnessed.
Spurned by her aunt’s incessant prodding, Electra’s outlook radically shifted at the beach house. She was swayed by Ivy Forrester’s (Ashleigh Brewer) details about the night Will and Dylan (Sydney Bullock) unexpectedly became Hayes Finnegan’s (Bryan David Garlick) babysitters.
Ivy first peered in the windows of the Spencer beachfront home and saw Dylan in her ballerina outfit. Ivy’s interpretation didn’t project Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet Swan Lake. The 2010 movie Black Swan, starring Natalie Portman, was brought to mind.
A black swan event is an unpredictable occurrence. And so the character Bullock is playing morphed from a side character, who was Hayes’ summer art teacher, into the driver who accidentally killed Luna during the great escape attempt that wrapped Nozawa’s time on the show.
But then something more unusual happened. Dylan came to see Will as her prince, got to Electra when Luna couldn’t, and caused them to split.
If she were alive, Luna would give grudging props to Dylan for accomplishing what she never could. Of course, the approach both women took toward Will was drastically different.
Luna assumed Will would want her. Dylan wants Will, but has created scenarios where he’s being drawn to her. That’s how the soapy game is played and won.
Will finds Dylan attractive. But fair-minded viewers know that he didn’t cross any lines with her at the beach house on the night in question.
He’s suffering from the Luna effect, which involved her poisoning Electra’s mind. Dylan is the beneficiary of that late murderer’s obsessive efforts. Like Will, Electra doesn’t have enough experience with relationships to know how to shelve Dylan.
Telling Will they were done in front of Dylan gives her new rival a major edge and the greenlight to comfort him in his time of confusion. Ivy’s relieved because she didn’t think Morrow’s character was a good fit.
Ivy’s matchmaker efforts might transfer to RJ Forrester (Brayan Nicoletti), unless she finds fault with him as well.
