The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers: Eric Blindsides Brooke And Ridge – Grabs His Couture Line Patents For Katie?

The Bold and The Beautiful spoilers and updates tease Eric Forrester (John McCook) might blindside Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye)! Following Liam Spencer’s (Scott Clifton) grab of “Logan” and patenting it, securing the trademark from Forrester Creations, Eric does the same with the patents for his couture line for Katie Logan Spencer (Heather Tom)!

Eric Is Resentful Over Ridge’s “Putting Him Out To Pasture”

Eric is resentful over Ridge’s “putting him out to pasture” like an old horse who can’t race anymore, especially when he’s the one who started Forrester Creations! The founder, and designer emeritus should be in charge of when and if he’ll retire, and he doesn’t appreciate being overprotected, either.

It was true when Eric was keeping his potentially fatal illness a secret that he was probably asking for it after his recovery, but no one’s overprotecting Liam!

It is a valid point that unlike Liam’s situation, Eric’s was real, and he really could have died. Still, Eric is offended that he’s basically been forced out of the company he made, and he made famous.

Eric Doesn’t Want His Famous Couture Line To Be Taken Over Or Retired

Eric certainly doesn’t want his famous couture line to be taken over by a younger designer, or worse yet, to be forcefully retired like he has been! Katie’s new “Logan” fashion house needs designers and fashions to get it off the ground, not just riding on the name-all that would do is point out she’s Brooke’s little sister.

Eric knows she doesn’t need that, and he decides to see if he can work for her-but first, he wants to make sure his couture line is secure, and portable! So he takes steps to grab his patents for the line, the designs, and everything involved in it to bring over to Katie, although he’ll retain ownership.

He’ll approach it like a partnership-and he meets with her and makes the pitch.

Brooke And Ridge Are Blindsided-And Angry!

As expected, Brooke and Ridge are blindsided when they find out that Eric’s secured the patents for his couture line and by this time, they are jointly secured under Eric’s name and Katie’s new company.

But that’s what happens when people presume to push a founder out and retire him without his agreement, and think they’re going to reap royalties and benefits from his work! They can’t sue, they can’t usurp, they can’t do anything legally any more than they can the company name “Logan”.

Too bad, so sad, they’ll just have to get over it, says Eric to Katie and Bill Spencer (Don Diamont). And Eric pours into Katie all the encouragement and benefit of his experience just like he did Ridge and Brooke at one time-and unlike them, Katie really appreciates it!
