The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers document that Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) has endured many heartaches. But he hasn’t rushed into love this time, and that self-restraint has allowed a positive outcome to result.
Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) offered his restored best friend and someone he considers to be like a brother, good advice. He told him to take it slow with the then Hope Logan (Annika Noelle).
That proved prophetic and allowed Carter to be ready when Daphne Rose (Murielle Hilaire) returned to Los Angeles, California, earlier this year. He was in love with her by the time she was serenading the crowd at Il Giardino during open mic night.
Hope engaged in a sordid transactional agreement with Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) that should have given Carter pause. But it didn’t, and he became her fallback choice after Thomas was engaged and living in Paris, France.
Daphne’s presence in LA was requested, as devoted fans recall. Stephanie Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) asked her friend to come to California and distract Carter.
That happened when he and Hope were running the company in a storyline that required a significant suspension of disbelief.
It was believable that Hope turned Carter’s head and that he considered marrying her. Hope’s pause implied that she’s eventually break from him and she’s now remarried to Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), which is another anticipated outcome.
Daphne fashions herself as the so-called Nose of Paris. That cute moniker fits Hilaire’s delightful character, who adds class and fills a niche that didn’t exist before this actor arrived.
Having someone for Carter who didn’t have multiple levels of personal baggage was encouraging. But fans were right to wonder if Saint-Victor’s alter ego would finally cross the nuptial line.
Well, plans for that are in motion. Thankfully, the writing staff has provided Carter with a woman who cares for him first and completely. The start of a family would be in order sometime later this year.
Viewers remember when Carter went hard for Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer). That storyline had great potential but proved to be an exit vehicle for Sofer’s character, who left the show after a lengthy run.
Quinn’s quiet departure, which was unseen, felt odd. It was unusual that Sofer and Saint-Victor didn’t have a standalone goodbye episode. But it served as a driver for Carter’s relationship pursuits that would follow.
Carter’s choices have trended more toward inexperience and a strong desire not to be alone, rather than purposeless mistakes.
This is a feel-good story that hopefully leads to marriage, children, and an enduring tie for one of the show’s good guys. That would also keep Daphne front and center, which would also be good for the show.
