A police-related shooting incident is headed straight for this troubled detective in Salem, and the aftermath will be devastating for everyone who cares about him.
The timing couldn’t be worse. Belle Black (Martha Madison) is still struggling with the loss of her father, John Black (Drake Hogestyn), and she has hardly had a moment to deal with that sorrow.
If Shawn were to die as well, she could completely break down. And we must also consider their daughter Claire Brady (most recently Isabel Durant); the idea of losing her father would be utterly crushing for that young woman.

Here’s where things get interesting-Belle had a warm moment with EJ DiMera-in the December 31 episode, she thanked him for signing papers. This helped Rachel Black (Alice Halsey) avoid juvenile court after Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) changed her story; Belle also expressed relief that EJ survived his kidnapping.
Dr. Rolf is using Versavix for his resurrection process- DOOL fans will recall that Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) needed that drug when he had sepsis, and John died trying to retrieve it from a thief. Father and son might share more than just DNA; they could both undergo the same experimental treatment to come back to life.
EJ has reasons to assist Belle; whether out of real feelings or strategy, saving Shawn would put Belle in his debt, which is valuable in Salem’s power games.
Will Belle Get Her Miracle-We Think She Will
The issue isn’t if Belle will seek help; she definitely will; the real question is if EJ will be a hero or exploit this tragedy for himself. Spoilers hint that EJ might step up; he could show what he’s been doing because he sees Belle’s pain.
Or he might be waiting for the right time to show his control over life and death; regardless, Shawn Brady could be brought back by Dr. Rolf’s crazy experiments.
Salem’s genius has resurrected many before, so adding another Brady shouldn’t be hard. No matter how it unfolds, Belle might get the miracle she needs.
