Often in the olden days, mothers died in childbirth, and recently, a wellness influencer in Australia passed away after giving birth. It’s an interesting, if tragic case, because medical care is much better these days. So read on to find out more.

Childbirth Deaths Still Happen

In June, folks felt shattered when they heard that a behind-the-scenes worker for Bravo had passed away after giving birth. How could that happen in this day and age, people asked? Well, Lauren Miller died despite the best efforts of modern medicine. But the case from Australia didn’t involve any medical professionals at all.

Home births are one thing, but perhaps it’s important to at least check in with a doctor before the baby arrives, or at least make an effort to be close to medical help if necessary. The story reported by People magazine revealed that influencers can get things wrong.

Died At Age 30

The outlet reported that Stacey Warnecke, a wellness influencer, was just thirty years old when she passed away. Pregnant, she had not gone for pre-delivery classes. In fact, she declined almost all prenatal care during her pregnancy, including ultrasounds and appointments with midwives or doctors, aside from one early blood test.

Deciding on what’s called a “free birth,” Stacey decided to only involve an unregulated birth worker with her. Apparently, during the days of COVID, she became so upset with vaccinations and medical professionals that she lost her trust in them. Sadly, that decision took her life.

As she had over 20K social media followers, the wellness influencer who focused on the good life, reached a lot of people. Hopefully, her followers take note of her sad and probably unnecessary death.

Refusing Medical Assistance

Apparently, the influencer passed away after the birth that her husband attended. But later, she started to feel unwell and eventually she was rushed to a hospital. However, she lost so much blood that she already had cardiac arrests.

Citing the Herald Sun, it seems that after she passed her placenta, the influencer started bleeding but wouldn’t accept an ambulance. By the time she was admitted, it was too late.

Readers React

When the @FamilyTV1 account shared the news on Instagram, people were able to comment on the sad loss. One follower wrote, “Sounds like the placenta ripped out instead of gradually being expelled.”

Here are a few more responses from the discussion:

  • So sad. People don’t realize the massive amount of blood that flows through the placenta and how quickly someone can bleed out.
  • people who dont know why modern tech allows us to live longer…
  • That’s pretty stupid.
  • That seems crazy!
