The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Jack’s Scheme Could Backfire – And Loose Lips Could Ruin Everything

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) made an extreme decision. But his so-called defensive move against Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) planned attack against Jabot may have been a mistake.
Jack believed that Jabot would be protected if he shut it down rather than wait to see if Victor could employ the stolen artificial intelligence tool effectively. But Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) was able to ferret out that intel ahead of Jack taking Jabot offline.
Soap viewers know that this genre works on topical issues. So, Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) artificial intelligence tool fit the bill, just as Jack’s use of computer jargon, offline, makes use of dialogue that is popular and makes the storylines seem with it.
Where Is This Storyline Going In Genoa City, Wisconsin?
Boiling down everything, this is another story about Victor and Jack battling each other. Done right, it can be compelling, but it’s not there yet.
It was believable to have Jack and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) trade secrets at the Genoa City Athletic Club. This ex-married couple remains the best of friends, and Nikki often tries her best to manage or block Victor’s worst impulses.
She still feels guilty for Jack becoming the target after he purposely overdosed on an illicit substance to shock her out of another alcohol binge. But the villain in that instance wasn’t Jack; it was Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk).
Victor Newman’s Endgame Is Murky
Devoted viewers recall that Victor held her hostage in his makeshift dungeon on the Ranch and that Michael and Jordan’s nephew, Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck), forced him to free her so that the authorities could take over. The Moustache punished both men for months after that.

Victor must have some endgame in mind, but viewers and even Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) don’t know what it is. That’s another part of this tale that feels a bit thin. However, encouraging momentum appears to have been gained.
Assuming the smear Victor had Adam run about Jabot shutting down creates the intended effect. The Abbott family business can’t be resuscitated, and John Abbott’s (Jerry Douglas) legacy company is silenced forever.
The entire Abbott family would have nothing to lose if that outcome happens. Victor has to anticipate that happening. Does he plan to use the AI weapon on additional targets?
Jack Abbott Enters The Fight He Wanted To Avoid
Jack isn’t Victor. Instead of preparing for battle, Bergman’s character wanted to sidestep a fight with his nemesis.
But Victor’s highlighting Jabot’s voluntary shutdown lays down the soapy gauntlet. Jack has to fight to save his beloved family business now, and this should be the point where this storyline delivers for the audience.
