The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Claire Isn’t Fooled by Victor- and Nikki Pays the Price

The Young and The Restless: Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden)

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) wanted answers from her grandfather. She didn’t get them, which put her in the same position that her grandmother has long been in.

Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is determined to finish what he’s wanted for years. He intends not only to end Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) business but to publicly humiliate him while doing so.

Claire still can’t determine why Victor detests Jack. Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) knows that answer, based on her history with both men, but shares Claire’s puzzlement.

Claire Newman Considers Two Men

Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) was her first love. He’s still that and could become more within any future episode. Kyle isn’t her current boyfriend, but he is someone she still cares about.

Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) is what Victor suggested. But that analysis puts him in the bad boy category, which, in soap opera land, makes him more appealing.

Claire isn’t going to cast off Holden because Victor says so. Yet, she shares doubts about his personal life. Though that’s nothing she’ll share with her ever-opinionated grandfather.

Nikki Newman Took An Awkward Stand

Why Nikki feels so strongly about this particular subject is questionable. She has to know that Victor could agree to her demand and hand over the artificial intelligence program, without that solving the problem.

Victor isn’t going to stop loathing Jack, which Nikki understands. However, he has obtained the unique ability to end his family business, and that has an overwhelming appeal.

Saying that she’d leave Victor was a strong stand. Doing so also put Nikki in an awkward position. If she backs down, Victor wins.

If she doesn’t drop her demand, they’re likely to separate, which could lead to another divorce. Neither person can honestly claim to want that. So, why allow that to happen?

Victor Newman Can’t And Won’t Change Who He Is

Claire doesn’t have enough Newman family experience to know the score. Nikki knows every out and all the balls and strikes.

Victor is who he is. He built his life, company, and families on his personality. So, changing now would be antithetical to his daytime reality.

Jack is an enemy. Holden is a perceived threat. So, Jabot will be destroyed if Victor feels that is best.

As for Claire’s friend, Holden is on the hit list. But he’s far below Jack, who remains in the first slot no matter what the love of Victor’s life wants.

Victor’s best tactic with Holden would Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) be to mimic what he did with Kyle. Back off and let matters play out. That was right, and it worked, at least for the time being.

As for Jack, Victor must have some follow-through plan. Using the AI weapon will end one of this fabled town’s legacy businesses. Handing its remnants to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) seems strange.

So, there must be something else up Victor’s sleeve that even Nikki didn’t see coming just before what should have been planned Newman family Christmas celebrations.
