The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Cane Vows to Make Amends — But Did Phyllis Sabotage Him?

The Young and The Restless: Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn)

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) generally doesn’t wear hats. But if he did, it would have been in his hand as he offered Arabesque at a deep bargain to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).

Both men eyed the other’s good mop of hair as Cane and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) stood while the soon-to-be King of Genoa City, Wisconsin, evaluated his desperate opponent. Actually, Cane can’t even be termed that at this stage of the soapy game.

Cane’s contrition seemed sincere. He wants to sell the company he and Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers) built because it has greater value alive than ground to dust, as Victor later told his loved ones he’d do.

Victor Newman Loves The Look Of Desperation

Victor isn’t a compassionate guy. Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) reinforced that point to this family during the Abbott’s post-Thanksgiving dessert gathering.

But Cane believed that Victor would be willing to give him pennies on the dollar because Arabesque still has some pieces that Newman Enterprises can use.

Adam completely rejected Cane’s pitch, speaking for his father, with Victor allowing his younger son to serve as the bad cop. The founder and head of Newman sat in his perch, looking down his nose at the man whose actions led to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) being physically assaulted in the south of France at Cane’s haughty chateau.

Cane Ashby Wants To Bury Aristotle Dumas

The point Cane made to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) at the Genoa City Athletic Club, which he currently owns, could be a ruse. Maybe Flynn’s character claimed that he knows what direction he’s heading, but doesn’t or is still planning a business comeback.

Yet, it feels like Cane was playing it straight with Victor. While agitated with Phyllis’ provocation of Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), he still hasn’t told Stafford’s character to get lost. Why is that?

The Young and The Restless: Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford)

Lily was right when telling Phyllis that she likes the bad boy persona Cane sported and has dropped. Phyllis didn’t admit it, but she has been trying to persuade him to revive Aristotle, and that seems pointless.

Phyllis Summers Has A Plan

Viewers know that Khalil was well along in her pregnancy when she shot the scenes they saw in early December. Soon enough, Lily will probably need to leave town to visit one or both of the twins or clear or head. That will cover Khalil’s maternity leave for an indefinite period.

Assuming Khalil is remaining with the cast and will return next year, the pairing of Phyllis and Cane makes total sense. With this daytime world, Phyllis will seize the opportunity to influence Cane’s motivation and push him toward her vision for his future.

She thinks Cane offers the best chance for her to ascend GC’s established structure. Plus, it remains possible that she put a poison pill in Cane’s artificial intelligence program that she hacked, meaning that Victor can be tied to Arabesque’s destruction and to any other company, like Jabot, he goes after.
