Eric has not had a proper storyline since he almost died. It seems like he doesn’t really serve much of a purpose other than just being the head of Forrester Creations.
A lot of soap fans have even compared the character to Victor Newman on The Young and the Restless. Would anyone even notice if they disappeared from the canvas? Probably not.
Of course, many The Bold and the Beautiful fans have had a lot to say about the matter on social media.
Some even commented with, “Eric has been given virtually nothing to do on Bold pretty much since Stephanie died.”
“The only exception to that being when he and Quinn first got together and his near-brush with death a couple years ago (which would’ve been a perfect time to write him out of the show and give him a Stephanie-like sendoff).
Watching him and Donna together now is just painful with John McC being 81 years old.”
What’s Next For Eric?
Another critic wrote, “It’s all in the writing. The problem with Victor and Eric is they keep repeating similar story arcs. Both are great powerful actors and patriarchs in their respective family empires.”
“They can still have a prominent role in the various story arcs but the writers need to shift their perspectives on what that should look like at this stage in their lives and careers.”
And then there was this comment as well: “Idk. Rich white men with dementia still trying to run the show and causing chaos for everyone is so American. If only Liberty Biberty would not have cured him. It was the perfect time/story to exit with.”
Then again, B&B fans will simply have to tune in each and every day to find out what will happen next.

I hope John stays on Bold&Beautiful til the very end. He is a fantastic man with awesome acting skills. It’s hard in life when you get to an age and
the younger ones want you to just be done. I hope

No it isn’t time for Eric to leave the show; unless it’s
John McCook’s to leave the show. I don’t think he is, and I hope he isn’t. The unbelievable sign he was holding ip in his dressing room could mean several different things. I think a better storyline other than another he’s dying from some mysterious illness already been done. A better storyline would be him taking back his company and bringing Thorn ad/or the other siblings back to claim their place in the company. Ridge and Steffy have too much control. I don’t need schooling on who have shares in the company.
