We can’t believe this is happening again; it’s common for soap operas to revive a villain, but Sharon has faced more than her share of foes in quick succession.

It’s hard to accept that she’s about to relive a terrifying moment from her past again. Yes, Sharon will confront Matt Clark (Roger Howarth), a shocking repeat considering her recent ordeal with the brutal Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby).

After he violently attacked her (and she thought she had killed him), he returned to Genoa City and kidnapped her daughter, Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster). Sharon had to stab him to death in a terrifying encounter, and then Kirsten returned as a drug-induced ghost to haunt her afterward.

After Ian Ward And Jordan Howard’s Drug-Induced Terror, Sharon Was Tormented By Martin Laurent!

Sharon quickly moved past the drug-induced terror from Cameron, Ian Ward (Ray Wise), and Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk), only to be captured again, this time with her enemy, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).

They faced severe trials and nearly died at the hands of Martin Laurent (Christopher Cousins). But Sharon persevered, heading to Aristotle Dumas’ (Cane Ashby, played by Billy Flynn) chateau in France with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), where more death and drama awaited.

Back in Genoa City, Sharon surprisingly stayed sane and hoped to rekindle her romance with her ex-husband.  But soon another nightmare struck when Noah Newman’s (Lucas Adams) near-death experience forced Sharon to confront her former rapist, Matt Clark.

Sharon embodies the spirit of a protective mama bear, and having come to the realization that Clark is targeting both her and Nick through their son, the next steps seem all but predetermined.

According to the latest Young & Restless spoilers, Sharon is poised to firmly stand her ground against Matt Clark, which undoubtedly signals that a confrontation is on the horizon.

If we find this situation to be draining at this stage, we can only imagine the toll it takes on Sharon as she repeatedly faces the resurgence of past adversaries.

Will Sharon Kill Matt, Or Nick Or Noah Do It For Her?

Or perhaps Nick or Noah will step in to handle it for her; “but,” you may wonder, “Is Matt really going to die so soon after his return?” They could stretch out his suffering for maximum impact; Sharon might even end up imprisoned again, but in the end, she will have to relive some form of this disturbingly repetitive scene.

Honestly, we can’t decide what’s more shocking… the lethal showdown itself, or the reality that these individuals could actually reenact this same situation multiple times in a single lifetime!
