The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Cane Doesn’t Know What He Wants – Is Phyllis The Future?

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) didn’t expect his business to collapse. He assumed the artificial intelligence tool Arabesque created would allow him to take control of Genoa City, Wisconsin’s legacy businesses, and that would impress his remaining family.
But Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) was disturbed by Cane’s reveal as having created the Aristotle Dumas persona. She also holds him responsible for the three deaths that happened at his ill-gotten chateau in the south of France.
Cane never expected Lily to be revolted by his plan to extend his business empire through hostile takeovers or have their children cut him off after learning through social media that he was Aristotle. In contrast, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) was okay with all of it.
Aristotle Dumas Is Yesterday Forever
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) wanted Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) to out Cane as being Aristotle this summer while everyone was gathered in the maze. Adam slow-walked that order because Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) wasn’t on board with it.
Adam later realized his father’s reasons for wanting Cane stopped, and has gone hard after Flynn’s character ever since. Viewers recall Adam flying to France and physically scaling the mountainside so he could make contact with Victor, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). It was a turning point that proved important in the flow of this storyline.
Cane’s plans were forever altered as soon as the Dumas news was digitally published. Arabesque was later toppled because Phyllis stole Cane’s AI tool.
Lily Winters Recognizes Mixed Message
Lily is affected when she’s in Cane’s presence. That reflects the remnants of their love.
However, Cane heard Lily say, when he pressed the issue, that she’s not currently in love with him. That comment appeared to be sincere.
Yet, Cane also detected that there was a chance for him to regain her trust and build a new relationship with her or a renewed one based upon perspective. That process was advancing when he agreed to give her his AI weapon so she could destroy it.
Phyllis wasn’t going to let that happen and hacked Arabesque’s computer system. She made an agreement with Victor, which he insists was never a reciprocal deal. Instead, it’s a quid pro quo where Phyllis will become the head of Jabot after Victor uses the AI tool to take control of the Abbot family’s business.
Phyllis Summers’ Need To Be In Charge
Cane is attempting to determine if Phyllis is the thief. He believes she is and wants to prove it.
His willingness to feign romantic interest in Phyllis is an extreme form of cat and mouse. She holds the high card, having already stolen his property, and wants to indefinitely distract him using a form of romance to do so.
The recast character Flynn portrays isn’t the type of person who willingly allows anyone to be in charge of him. But he’s playing along with Phyllis in an attempt to prove her guilt.
Yet, Cane and Phyllis could plausibly become a couple because they’ve alienated all of GC. Cane doesn’t know what he wants but may accept or even embrace what Phyllis is offering if the chance to reconcile with Lily is lost.
