General Hospital Stephen A. Smith Announces Return – Brick Is Back!
General Hospital (GH) spoilers note that while it’s been a hot minute since fans have seen Brick, Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard) other right-hand man, played by recurring star Stephen A. Smith. He has recently announced that the henchman is slated to return to the land of Port Charles, and CBL has all the details.

Smith uploaded an Instagram reel that highlighted a segment of his show where a fan called in, asking if the star could wish his mother a ‘happy birthday’. General Hospital was tagged in the video. While the caller’s mom loves watching GH, she’s an even bigger Brick fan!
After Smith wished her a happy birthday, he revealed that he filmed some scenes on the ABC soap recently, and viewers will be seeing Brick again in the weeks to come!

Stephen A. Smith’s History With GH
GH fans may recall that Smith started on the ABC daytime drama in 2007. At that point in time, he played a television reporter. Smith returned to the soap opera in late March 2016, entering the role of Brick, Sonny’s loyal and trusted “fixer”. As such, fans have seen him every so often on the canvas when Brick is needed.
While Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) has always been second in command where Sonny’s organization is concerned, when he exited storylines in late 2021, due to Burton’s departure, Brick was promoted to Jason’s role and, in many ways, has stayed there.
Brick is a fun character to watch on screen, and *almost* dabbled in a romance with Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper), before she ended up pursuing a relationship with Isaiah Gannon (Swandi Wilson).
What will bring Brick back to Port Charles? Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) is becoming a thorn in Sonny’s side, and there was some mention to eliminate him as a threat, so only time will tell if Brick is the man placed behind this mission.

I enjoy Brick’s in and out appearances. Know he has so much going on in his life sports and otherwise, but wish he could be around a little more as Sonny does need more help than Jason, especially now that writers don’t seem to be writing Jason as they have previously. In fact, Jason is almost as Brick, see him now, now you don’t. Writes are definitely not using SB’s talents as they should be in my opinion. Sonny just may need Brick’s brain and Jason’s brawn to get out of this Sidwell mess. As scenes can be taped ahead of actual view dates, perhaps Brick could do a short Erica Slezack type of story arc to give Sonny a true story line is his fight against Sidwell and make things more interesting than they have been.
