General Hospital Spoilers: Gary James Fuller, The ABC Soap’s James West, Reveals The Role He Didn’t Get On The Show

He also shared his love for sports and more when he appeared on Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson’s (Damian Spinelli) You Tube show, “Stone Cold And The Jackal”.

Gary Talked About His Acting Career

Gary James Fuller, a young actor from General Hospital, recently shared his career experiences in an interview on the Stone Cold and The Jackal YouTube channel.

He first auditioned for the part of Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) when he was five but eventually secured the role of James West right after his audition. Now at 10 years old, Gary has been acting since he was two, beginning with a commercial for My Pal Scout.

Besides acting, he loves baseball and junior drag racing, and his friends think his TV career is ‘really cool’; in the interview, viewers learned much more about this talented young actor.

He discussed everything from traveling between Nevada and Los Angeles to the role he auditioned for but didn’t get, his favorite sports, and more.

Gary Talks About The Part He Didn’t Get

Gary recounted a humorous piece of history regarding his initial attempt to secure a role on GH. “When I was around five or six, I auditioned for the role of Wiley, but I didn’t land that part,” he reminisced. “However, two years later, I had the audition for the role of James, and I definitely got that one.” He vividly recalls how quickly everything unfolded: “Before we even left the parking lot, my agent informed me that I had booked it.” The young actor also discussed one of the most significant acting challenges he has encountered to date-shooting the scene where James plunges into the lake.

Gary Had Never Been Underwater In Clothes, Though He Has Acted Practically His Whole Life

He noted that it was difficult because he had never been submerged in water while wearing regular clothes before; at ten, Gary has been involved in acting for almost his entire life.

He began his journey at the tender age of two, featuring in a commercial for a LeapFrog stuffed dog named My Pal Scout.

When he’s not on set, Gary enjoys staying active on the baseball diamond, playing as a pitcher, catcher, and shortstop, though he confesses that catching is his preferred role.

Additionally, when he’s not at the ballpark, you might catch him racing, as he has a strong passion for junior drag racing. How do his friends view his television career;  Gary mentions that they find it ‘really cool’ that he works in TV.
