He could easily be one of the luckiest men in daytime television, if not the entire entertainment industry. Of course, we are talking about General Hospital star Steve Burton.
Steve Burton Caught A Huge Break
It’s not every day that you get a second chance in the daytime television world. But for Steve, who is best known for his role as Jason Morgan on the hit ABC, he got incredibly lucky.
Back in 2021, the actor was fired from General Hospital for not complying with the ABC network’s mandatory vaccine mandate at the time. In fact, both he and his former co-star Ingo Rademacher were both let go from the show at the very same time.
While Ingo tried to put up a fight with the ABC network, Steve managed to get another job at Days of Our Lives. It didn’t take very long for him to bounce back to General Hospital a few years later, where he’s been ever since.
Unfortunately for Ingo, he’s still out of work. Another General Hospital star, Kelly Monaco, was also let go from the show last year. And just like Ingo, she’s been having a very hard time finding a job in the entertainment industry as well.
This seems to prove the point that Steve Burton wasn’t let go because he wasn’t talented or liked enough. Instead, it all had to do with protocol. While other former General Hospital stars are struggling to make ends meet, he’s got a steady paycheck and job that has helped put food on the table for his family.
What’s Next For Steve Burton?
So while some people might say that Steve is very lucky, others will say that the actor is in the one place that he belongs, and that’s home in this fictional town of Port Charles. And hopefully, he’s going to stay here for a very long time, too.
So far Steve Burton himself has not made any comments about the matter just yet.
