Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Unveiling Sami’s Shocking Engagement – Who Is The Mystery Fiancé?
Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates suggest that Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) will soon arrive in Salem with big news.
At the upcoming Horton Clinic Gala, she will tell her friends and family that she is engaged; but who is the mystery fiancé of Sami?
Sami’s Returning To Salem
Official Days spoilers reveal that Sami has multiple reasons for returning to Salem. First, she wants to meet her new grandchild, Trey DiMera (Joseph Ihlenfeld and Jordan Perdue), who is the baby of Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens).
Second, Sami plans to attend the grand opening gala for the Tom Horton (MacDonald Carey) Free Clinic, which is where she will share the surprising news of her engagement.
This is unexpected since she didn’t mention dating anyone during her summer visit-it’s exciting news, as Sami Brady has been a fan favorite for years. Since she’s busy with Hallmark movies, she comes in like Hurricane Sami, makes her presence felt, and then leaves when needed.
The Last Time Sami Had A Substantial Storyline Was When She Was Kidnapped
Earlier this year, Sami visited Salem to support Johnny after he found out EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) had blackmailed her and that Johnny was essentially conceived through rape.
After John Black (Drake Hogestyn) died, Sami returned, but only after the funeral to comfort her mother, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall).
She also supported Johnny during his trial for attempting to murder EJ. However, Sami soon left Salem again to care for her daughter, Sydney DiMera (Avery and Cade Seger), who was recovering from leg surgery; now, Hurricane Sami is set to return to Salem.
The last time she stayed for a while, she was dealing with her kidnapping, not knowing it was Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) who took her, fearing she would return to EJ. Lucas kidnapped Sami, framed EJ, and then acted as her hero by rescuing her.
The Truth Came Out At The Most Inappropriate Time
Naturally, the truth emerged at the most inopportune time when Lucas and Sami stood at the altar, ready to be declared husband and wife. Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) stormed into the chapel, revealing the shocking news that Lucas was the kidnapper. Sami, understandably, panicked and ended their relationship right then and there.
Consequently, Lucas found himself in Statesville prison for his actions, although he has been free for some time now.
That incident marked Sami’s final known romance, her ill-fated wedding to Lucas, and it was also the last engagement she had, at least to our knowledge.
Who Is Sami’s Fiancé-We Know It’s Not Rafe!
As the 60th anniversary of Days of Our Lives approaches, Sami is back for the special episodes that also feature the fancy gala for the Dr. Tom Horton free clinic.
Sami plans to announce her engagement to her family, but who is her fiancé-who is this mystery man; is he someone from her past or a new love? We can rule out a few possibilities; it’s doubtful it’s her ex Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering).
The attractive FBI agent has been single since he ended his engagement with Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu). Unless he’s been secretly meeting Sami off-screen, it seems unlikely they’ve had a chance to rekindle their romance, which is unfortunate for Rafe since he could use a partner in his life.
We Can Also Rule Out EJ
It’s highly unlikely for Sami to be engaged to her ex-husband EJ; he’s been extremely busy with the secretive lab and the clinic that conceals it, causing trouble for the hospital doctors.
Additionally, EJ is still in love with Sami’s sister, Belle Black (Martha Madison) although he lost Belle when he made a scene at Johnny’s trial, revealing their relationship in an attempt to get a mistrial.
Ultimately, EJ still has feelings for Belle, even though she keeps turning him down-naturally, this situation upset Sami, leading her to confront Belle about dating EJ.
Moreover, in their limited interactions, it appears they still lack chemistry-he cares for her, but she still has negative feelings towards him. This makes EJ an unlikely choice for Sami’s new fiancé.
What About Austin Reed?
Now, let’s delve into the story of Austin Reed (Austin Peck), it’s well-known that Sami had a significant crush on Austin during their younger days.
However, his affections were directed towards her sister, Carrie Brady (Christie Clark). Sami resorted to deceit and engaged in some truly terrible actions in her quest to win Austin’s heart.
At one point in her youth, Sami even went so far as to drug Austin, which amounted to a violation of his consent.
She opened up about this troubling past to Johnny during her visit to town this spring; but Austin remains blissfully married to Carrie, residing in Europe, and he is not involved with Sami.
Maybe It’s Brandon Walker?
However, another potential candidate from her history might be Abe Carver (James Reynolds)’s eldest son, Brandon Walker (Matt Cedeño)-it’s been 20 years since we last saw him in Salem back in 2005.
He and Sami had a rocky relationship, which included a short-lived marriage. Prior to Brandon’s departure from Salem, Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) had drugged both Brandon and Sami, resulting in them waking up in bed together.
At that time, Sami was involved with Lucas Horton (Bryan Datillo). Clearly, Kate was attempting to sabotage that relationship. Brandon left, leaving Sami to deal with the chaos that Kate had created.
This Leaves One Very Likely Candidate-Lucas!
It seems that the man Sami is likely engaged to, if it’s one of her former partners, is Lucas Horton. He has been away from Salem for a long time, so they might have reconciled offscreen- Sami could have fallen for Lucas’s charming dimples again.
Additionally, we’ve heard that Bryan Dattilo is returning for November Sweeps and the 60th anniversary of Days of Our Lives.
If you recall, we even saw Lucas in that extended Summer and Fall promo; so, it’s possible that Sami is about to remarry Lucas. If they are back together, we’ll see how Kate responds.
