The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Cane’s Drama Heats Up – His Pull Toward Lily Is Unstoppable

The Young and The Restless: Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn)

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) never expected his artificial intelligence tool to be stolen. He confronted Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and wants Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) to prepare for a possible attack.

At this point in the plot, Cane needs to somehow prevent the AI weapon from being used as he threatened to do so. But Cane will be blamed if he’s unsuccessful, even if the word gets out that he’s not solely responsible.

Phyllis is trying to trap Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). However, her gamble is dangerous because of admitting that she has the digital tool that supposedly can create havoc for any company in the world.

Let’s Start With Phyllis Summers

Cane inherited his wealth, which allowed him to have power. That enabled him to recruit what he saw as useful chess pieces. But Cane isn’t Victor.

Flynn’s character became drunk with power, as he recently admitted to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). His misguided attempt to impress her and their twins created hubris that has been replaced by a collapsed scheme.

Phyllis was recruited under the pretense of being his computer guru. She’s been anything but, instead serving as an agitator and now, thief and saboteur. Stafford’s character, even more than Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson), confirms that Cane has bad hiring instincts and doesn’t know how to manage people, but instead believes they’ll fall for his manipulative endeavors.

Provoking Victor Newman Was Foolish

Phyllis and Cane share some common traits. One of them is the belief that they are smarter than others.

Cane, like Phyllis, believed that he could out-think Victor. Seeing him as past his prime and not in step with so-called modern times, the head of Arabesque genuinely thought that Newman Enterprises was ripe for the taking and that Victor couldn’t prevent that from happening.

Meanwhile, Arabesque might prove to be nothing more than a front company that doesn’t dominate anything in Genoa City, Wisconsin. More likely is that Phyllis’ attempts to con Victor will hasten the end of the company that Colin Atkinson’s (Tristan Rogers) creative abilities allowed Cane to head.

Lily Winters Is Attracted To The Pull

Devon Winters (Bryton James) saw the chemistry between his sister and Cane. He doesn’t like that Cane still has pull with Lily, which is another way of referencing their existing love.

Lily has had plenty of opportunities to walk away from Cane since he revealed himself as using the Aristotle Dumas persona. Rather than cut him off, Lily has deepened her involvement in his developing drama.

Nothing is certain, but viewers likely feel that the reconciliation Cane wants with Lily is underway. Remarriage doesn’t feel probable this fall, but by this time next year, that reunion has likely happened, along with rapprochement with their children.
