Robert Irwin, 21, who works for the Australia Zoo and is well-known for Crikey! It’s The Irwins, sat down and gave an interview on October 14. And, some folks who watched it felt that every young person should watch it. Meanwhile, others thought everyone could take something from it. Read on to find out why.
As Robert currently performs on Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars, interest in the son of crocodile hunter Steve Irwin and Terri Irwin is exceptionally high. Already, he has garnered millions of followers, and those numbers will only increase as his popularity rises.
After his Dedication dance to honor his mom and dad, he sat down with Nick Viall and Natalie on their podcast. An emotional moment came when his dance partner, Witney Carson, reached for his hand.
He almost cried as he talked about trying to make his life meaningful while honoring his late dad, but still retaining his own identity.
Other inspirational and meaningful moments came about when Robert Irwin told Nick Viall and his co-host:
I was I was saying to Whitney…I’ve had coffee three times in my life, and one of those times was this morning. So, I’m like on another plane right now, so this could go anywhere. Yeah. Real jittery…
What? A young person who seldom touches coffee? But, there was so much more to come. Firstly, Robert gave a lot of credit to Witney for his success on DWTS so far. But then the conversation turned to relationships and a future partner in life.
Robert Irwin knows exactly who he wants to spend his life with. Not a specific person, but a certain type. He said, “Well, honestly, I think first of all, I try to surround myself with people, genuine, authentic people.”
He noted that those people “are just really kind.” And, it’s important to him. He explained, “Like, that’s that’s the thing. You…in life, you’ve got to find people that lift you up and that you can kind of just support one another.”
Certainly, it seems that Robert fully believes you become like the company you choose to keep. There was a lot more, and you can watch it further down in this article. But, there’s a definite feeling that Terri Irwin raised a wonderful young man.
Everyone knows that Robert was just a little boy when his dad died while filming on the Great Barrier Reef. Honoring his mom and remembering his dad are very important to the son.
He said, “The legacy that my mom and dad created is incredible. They were just the ultimate team and they created something that now I, my sister, we get to continue.”
Notably, he believes that “it’s a message that is so important. They built an entire life around trying to make positive change on the planet.”
Admiring his mom, he mentioned how Steve’s death didn’t bring an end to the family’s concern for the environment. Robert Irwin added, “And when dad passed away…mom just carried it all forward.”
“She’s an incredibly strong human being and she made sure that dad was always part of my life,” he explained. Then he said, “and I’m very very grateful for that. Yes, still having a connection with him is is so important to me. And also I get that connection from people I talk to in my day-to-day life.”
In the comments section, one viewer opined, “First time watching. Must see interview. Robert’s wisdom , knowing every word matters, clean meaningful language and messages, and his evolution through grief, and integrity are to be learned from.”
